and he brought a friend. damn, those things are fat, and not with a ph. no wonder the toms in the yard were yowling. saganist needs to stop clubbin' seals and get over here and get those things off my deck

I had an apartment on a courtyard, with a family of raccoons that occasionally visited. I had my patio door open because my kitties enjoyed going in and out. I hear this fuss and look out to see the big mama raccoon backing away and Tiger Lily, who was only about six months old, all puffed up and stalking towards her. The raccoon eventually turned and ran away, Tiger came back inside very satisfied with herself. The raccoon probably outweighed her 10-to-1.

it was a pretty tame faceoff. the raccoons didnt seem particularly worried. they just sort of looked at me like, "well, are you gonna feed us or what?"

My neighbor at the same apartment lost a cat and decided to put food out on the patio just in case ... within days we had raccoons, oppossums, and other opportunistic urban animals ... memo come out to all residents to not feed animals outdoors .... well duh!
