i knew Weems was the asscan who made up the cherry tree myth, but i didnt know he was a minister, so that Quote threw me way off.

Considering the amount of clues during the game that I took for rejects from a "Stupid Answers" category, that Final was fucking ridiculous.

yeah it was tough.

when that was over, i turned to Doug and Conrad and said, "KC just got the Jeopardy equivalent of a Q stick."

I grew up in Virginia, and I've visited the Weems-Botts museum in the Dumfries area, and I knew this SOB was responsible for the cherry tree myth because he was an opportunistic a-hole. But calling him a "biographer" seems a stretch. He flat-out made stuff up. (Also, I kept waiting for Alex to come back and give KC credit again for getting the name of that food show host right. She clearly knew it. That was petty.)

give the spate of phony memoirs and bogus biographies in recent years, Parsnip Worms was obviously ahead of his time.

The only thing I could think of was "the guy who made up the stupid cherry tree story," but I couldn't remember his name and I didn't think writing down "who is cherry tree guy?" would get me credit.

They have pretty strict rules about giving credit for mispronunciations, and they have to apply them consistently. I was bummed, but not much I could do about that.
