Jeopardy!

Way cool! Back in 2004 I tried out for Jeopardy and I still remember the tryout like it happened yesterday. It was at a local casino and the line literally wrapped around the whole building; I barely made it in time. They gave you the 10-question written quiz and, if you passed, you had an envelope on Jeopardy letterhead that gave you the instructions as to what the next step was.

While they wouldn't say what the qualification standard was, it was pretty obvious you had to get all 10 right to go to the next step. I say that because I know I got 9 of 10 right and got the big doughnut. You could count on one hand the number of people who were holding one of the coveted envelopes.

My claim to fame was that, back in '98, I made it onto the poor man's equivalent, Win Ben Stein's Money. Ben's sidekick at that time was an up and coming personality named Jimmy Kimmel. A less stringent - but still not trivial - entry requirement but still tons of fun.
