[Caps] KuroMyu II - Part 4 {fin}

Nov 29, 2010 16:14

And now to conclude the massive picture load of 4 posts! Thanks to all who actually read it and thought it's useful. :) And so, this'll be the final post. I won't be doing all the backstages, if you were wondering.

Now please, prepare tissues as you sit and watch the story between both Alan and Eric unravel - their conversation, their feelings and their relationship. I think even for those who didn't get the overall story fully should have also been able to feel the overwhelming feelings between the two of them. The three times I watched it, first and second time to understand the majority of the musical and the third time when I cap these, I cried three times. Especially at their song.

PLEASE NOTE that lots of the translations for all four parts are general ideas of what they are saying and not all are exact dialogues of what they said. Please wait patiently for the subs to be released!
I'm NOT the one subbing this, PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME ABOUT IT.

In my last post, I left off with Sebastian who has successfully saved Ciel who was taken hostage for a moment. Alan also found Eric, and he decided to resign his job as a death god by removing his glasses - significant of the role of a shinigami. He would stand by his friend to the end of his life.

Now the two of them appear, and it appears that Alan has a relapse again.

Eric asks if he's okay, and Alan says, "It'll calm down after I get some rest". However, it seems like there's an interruption by Sebastian, who comes in and confronts Eric. Alan is then left one side to take a break while Eric struggles to fight the cloaked figures.

Sebastian enters and says, "Eric-san. You will definitely continue to kill." And he starts off a song, which can be found at THIS VIDEO. Sounds like the main theme for the whole musical.

It seems like this musical employs a lot of symbolism and personification. Perhaps the cloaked figures symbolize the souls that he has been collecting that is eating him away, or he could just be fighting his own evil deeds that are engulfing him. Or they could even be a representation of his guilt for all the evil deeds that he has done - his refusal to accept and and inability to repel. Again, this is open for interpretation.

A pause in the song, and Eric thus apologizes, saying that he can't give up his goals. He's desperate to save Alan. However, Sebastian continues, dashing any hope left in Eric, "As long as Alan doesn't wish for it, whatever you have done becomes pointless."

Eric: Alan probably won't forgive me. Even so-! He's my friend!
Sebastian: "Friend"? That's utter rubbish. The only thing that undoubtedly exists - the contract.

Sebastian is impressed that he's managed to collect a lot of souls, of up to about 700 at the opera house. And Eric replies that thanks to Sebastian, he's currently only left with 1 more soul to go.

Sebastian, in all his mocking tone, 'praises' Eric for his efforts and for believing in a mere legend.

He adds, "Eric-san, if you die here, you will have the last soul that you need!"

Eric then kneels on the floor, and Alan who is still lying on the other side and helpless, asks, "Are you breaking the promise we made earlier on? Why are you continuing to sin for my sake?!"

Eric is rather hysterical and out-of-it right now, and seems to be talking to himself, "Only one - just one more left! As long as I have one more soul I can save Alan!"

Alan yells to stop and rushes forward to push Sebastian aside. By now, Eric is really rather hysterical as he ignores Alan who's pleading him to stop. Eric sees Ciel and says out loud, "There's one more soul, right? Ciel Phantomhive! Your soul-!"

And in order to prevent that from happening, Alan rushes forward and becomes the one killed instead.

Immediately, you can hear bells knelling as the sound of death approaches quickly. Well, personally, I felt like bells were 'knelling'. We can now see the cinematic record of both Alan and Eric in the past. Perhaps that time when they were in the garden that Eric mentioned in his soliloquy when he was standing with Druitt.

It opens with Alan who is rather sad that the newest death was someone rather young, aspiring and full of dreams, yet he had to die. Alan thought that if he had at least been there to tell that young person that he was going to die, he at least wouldn't have had to.

Eric asks if he's crying. And Alan turns away a little, and he suddenly says, "Flower...This is the flower, 'erica'."

He explains that 'erica' means "solitude". He adds, "Everyone is alone. From the time you were born and to the end...I know, I shouldn't be involving myself in cases of deaths..." (referring to the case of that young person)

However, Eric replies, "What loneliness? Look, so many other flowers are blooming around with it! You may be born alone, but maybe just like the flower 'erica', there may be others which bloom around it. For eternity."

And then...the flower around them scatters. Alan comments that it's like snow, which Eric agrees to.

Once again, the ominous sound of the bells knelling begins and their song also begins. I guess this should be my second favorite song to this whole musical. Again, translations and more heart-wrenching lyrics can be found at THIS VIDEO.

They have a rather nice duet together, really. Their voice really kinda complement each other.

And we know the taking off of the spectacles will drive us all back to reality again where it's not all happy as the bells continue to knell. I like the way they look at each other, really.

Like I said, reality is harsh.

Eric is mourning for his friend's death and his own mistake...

...while Sebastian mockingly claps at Eric's achievement. Finally, 1000 souls have been collected. However, they were 1000 "meaningless souls", as Sebastian had so cruelly said. For a moment there, I hated Sebastian. Just for that moment. D:

I just love the way he said "akuma" here - especially the mix of hate and desperation in his eyes.

Sebastian also continues to say (as he moves towards the other side of the stage), "You may have been able to save him with those souls you collected. But, you can't revive him. It has no more value. There is no more value to the souls. There's no need to be sad. The two of your paths is the same...'death'."

Even more desperation and hope that has been destroyed in the above as he requests Sebastian to kill him. He feels it's meaningless to go on himself too. Understandable, since he won't be spared by the Shinigami Dispatch Society.

Sebastian asks if he should kill him, and Ciel answers that he doesn't even have to ask. As long as Sebastian fulfills his mission. Sebastian moves to pick up Alan's death scythe.

Eric: Alan's...death scythe?
Sebastian: Yes. Is this inconvenient?
Eric: ...No.
Sebastian: You do not wish to soil Alan-san's death scythe with your blood-stained hands, or do you want to meet your end with Alan-san's death scythe?
Eric: ...I don't know.
Sebastian: Hoh, 'I don't know.'

Eric: ...I don't know. Everything has no meaning anymore.
Sebastian: I see. Then...

He dies, and falls onto Alan's lap. They both sleep eternally.

Ciel: This is...
Sebastian: The souls that Eric-san has collected. They were probably stored within him.
Ciel: It's like snow.
Sebasitan: Indeed.
Ciel: It's beautiful.
Sebastian: Yes. The souls that he chased after during his journey releasing their momentary radiance.
Ciel: Momentary radiance...of the souls...
Sebastian: There is no meaning to everything. Yes, there is no meaning to all life or death. However...

Ciel: The beautiful things...are only beautiful.
Sebastian: Indeed. Only...beautiful.

...What is with his look? :O

That smile. Suspicious smile.

The scene shifts to William and Ronald. The case has now been settled.

Ronald, however, has a question. He wonders why on earth even though there were so many souls that Sebastian can eat, but that demon doesn't even move to fill his stomach. William replies, "The soul of that kid after all..." But he pauses, and we aren't told anymore.

And then, Ronald asks about Grell.

In any case, all William is hoping for is that Grell does not cause trouble...

And then Grell runs in holding her dress, saying that she'll be going out. :D

It seems like Druitt is rather disappointed that he can't find the beauty that he seeks for in this small London. He wonders if he can find it in France instead. And he says, "I wonder what voice those little baby birds will cry in!" Well, if you remember his song...

Undertaker says that Abberline can always go and ask for information. However, he is told to study more on jokes and how to make Undertaker laugh. Abberline then sighs and makes his way towards the middle of the second level, when Hanks jumps in.

Hanks asks why on earth the case has been "resolved" (kaiketsu, 解決), but Abberline doesn't understand why either, and replies something surprisingly deep. He understands the "powerlessness" of himself - of humans. But Hanks continues to go on about the cleaning uncle...Abberline agrees that that guy has done something remarkable but he'll continue to pursue that cleaning uncle! Hanks at this point interrupts:

Hanks: Inspector!
Abberline: Hmm? What is it? You also -
Hanks: Your nostril hair is peeking out.

...If not for the sad music and atmosphere, I would've laughed really hard.

The servants are preparing for Ciel's return. Meirin carries tea but knowing her, she's extremely clumsy and Finny supports her to put the tea on the table that Bard has set up.

Sebastian and Ciel finally enter, and the three welcome them back.

The three are then told by Sebastian to have a good rest. And then there's a suggestion!

Bard: Why don't we get into the bath together!
Finny: Yeah! Including Tanaka-san!
Bard: Good idea!

Meirin: I-I don't want to! *runs off*
Finny: Haha! She's happy about it!
Bard: Hey hey, you don't have to be that happy about it!

They exit, and Sebastian proceeds to pour tea for Ciel but pauses, 'thanking' Ciel for his hard work and lists the three things he has done for this time's mission:

"...pretended to be a girl..."

"...became a hostage..."

"...and acting like a cat!"

Ciel looks at Sebastian strictly. The butler bows and apologizes. He pours tea for Ciel. Whatever tea that is, I have no idea. *is not good with tea names* Sebastian does say that the tea will help Ciel relax.

Ciel comments that this incident was rather trivial. He also adds on, "To be led around by [the idea of] 'solitude'...it's just like a foolish human."

A pause, and Sebastian reminds Ciel not to slack off tomorrow since he'll be getting busy these few days with work. And then, he breaks into the song, Hallucination, which can be found at THIS VIDEO.

He sees that Ciel has completely fallen asleep and says that he should sleep on the bed.

There's a replay of their conversation at the start of the musical when they first make their contract.

And now, Sebastian says to the audience whilst carrying Ciel:

"To me, one thousand souls mean nothing. The only thing I want - your soul, young master. Up to the final moment before the contract is complete...I'm only one hell of a butler."

The drape falls again, showing the sign of their contract. And...we end with a blackout.

I'm not stopping here. I'm also capping the rest of the ending to the end! So this means we can discuss with each other the characters and their respective actors, the plot etc and say what you liked and what you did not find so appealing in this musical. :) LET'S GO!

Stage is pretty good, as you can see. ;D The three levels are all utilized pretty well, IMO. Then again, I'm no director. :X

In case you also wanted the lyrics to this song which is different from the shinigami version, it can be found at THIS VIDEO.

These guys were amazing. :D As backup dancers, they're awesome! *___*

THESE TWO! Abberline's like, 42 or something already. Still alive and kickin'! Hanks has a natural lisp too, doesn't he? XD

Oh yes, before this were the girls. I love the opera singer. She was the right choice. :D

Haha, he did a pretty good job being some crazy guy who is the "martyr of beauty". Sadistic to the end. :3 Quite liked him overall. I think the actor's name is Yousuke Crawford. Correction made by hibimaosuki~ (thank you!) It's Fujita Rei. xD;;

Undertaker. This guy. 8D He's also awesome, except he had a lot less in this musical. Or maybe it's because there's just so much in this musical there's not enough for him...

As usual, these three are so cute. I think Finny overdid his role though. >< I dunno about you, but I think he exaggerated Finny's character a little too much. Meirin is awesome, while Bard is also another awesome one, though I kinda preferred the previous Bard in the first musical. But I still like this trio as a whole. :D

Ronald Knox - guy who likes to party and hates overtime work. We're gonna see him in the next upcoming chapter of Kuroshitsuji manga right? I bet it'll be awesome. :D

William, William~ What can I say? :D He did an awesome job of Will. I love it when he says "mattaku". :D

Daring Uehara Takuya is daring. That night dress - takes a lot of guts for a man to wear that and act like a woman. He has my respect and beyond.

I was supposed to have Alan's cap as well, but Photobucket eated it. D: Anyway, he's also another good actor, except I didn't like the way he pronounced his words (can't help but be bothered by this), and at certain points (maybe it's just me, but...) he seems to be overdoing Alan as a character. Well, that's just how I feel but then he's definitely done a good job of Alan!

Oh god this guy. He's fantastic. At the last moment when he begs Sebastian to kill him, the desperation and the lost hope that I hear in the voice was just...man, epic. He's really tired though, the last bit before he died.

WHAT HAVE THEY BEEN TEACHING CHILDREN?! In any case, this kid was pretty good as Ciel. But I think he couldn't fully display Ciel's sometimes very cold exterior. It's tough too, that's understandable. Ciel is a kid who's gone through tragedy and the worst things. He's a tough character to play. Nevertheless, he's worked really hard too!

CROTCH-GRAB!Sebastian is very rare. Anyway, I think Matsushita Yuya also worked very hard for this. I give props to his stamina. :X He fought quite a bit and also sang almost right after, without sounding like he's very out of breath. He did a rather good Sebastian indeed. I'm still wondering about that look earlier in this post that he gave to Ciel. It looks like he going, "can we plz go nao can we plz go nao" kinda look.

U R NOT MICHAEL JACKSON. BUT UR DOIN' IT QUITE RITE.

The rest leave and he thanks the audience once again. Blackout, and then Ciel drags Abberline out as the rest of the cast file in again. Once again, they bow and thank the audience. And then there's fanservice~

Will grabbing Grell's hair, and Sebastian carrying Ciel. Ciel's small and cute so it's quite easy to carry him anyway. :3

For some reason Ciel is passed to Ronald to carry, and then he's put down and Ciel points at Ronald. Maybe he doesn't like Ronald carrying him...

Will continues to drag Grell off...

Teehee. Will is Grell's favorite, after all.

Will is offended. Poor Grell. D:

;~; I wish Will would stop bullying him. I mean, c'mon even during the previous musical, Sebastian made an effort to hug Grell (backstage footage) when the curtains drew up again. xD

So right, that concludes the end of all four parts for the KuroMyu II guide. I hope this has been helpful to whoever who's reading this.

Once again, thanks to all the people who have actually worked on the translations of the songs. I couldn't thank you guys more. Also, thanks to the person who uploaded all these KuroMyu for us to enjoy!

If you would like to let other fans know about this, you can just link them straight to my journal as these posts are public posts.

I hope you have enjoyed the musical and all four posts!
