What is it that you get from Horoscopes or Astrology?

How do they help you?

This is a sincere question, because if they help you, they help you, and who am I to say that they don't. I am curious about what you get from it!

trying to figure it out. And the truth is I don't think it helps, it's just entertainment that's interesting. I do think there's something to it, but how much I can't tell you. On weeks where it seems to fit, especially Brezny, I think it's nice how it well it fits. Some weeks it's completely random and has nothing to do with my life. So I wouldn't say it helps me make any decisions or feel better about anything usually. But I like checking it.

That's cool. That's exactly the sort of answer I am looking for. I think when people debunk astrology, they are often sort of missing the point. The dynamic of that encounter is all wrong. It so often comes off as, "I'm so smart for debunking this and you're so dumb for believing it..." and I don't think that people who read their astrology or tarot or psychics or what have you "believe" that there are supernatural "powers" involved (necessarily). And I don't think they are dumb. I think that the process has other aspects to it aside from the easily disprovable supernatural claims. And these aspects can be valuable.
