Things have never, ever, ever, ever been easy for the Smitten family.
Drama seemed to follow them where ever they went, and trouble was just embedded into their heritage.
Sandi had three children and one grandchild.
This may seem normal but to throw in the fact that the oldest was by another man, the two others were by another (who had an affair with another man) AND her grandson was the product of her daughter having an affair with Sandi's boyfriend, makes things seem entirely different.
However, through everything Sandi has started to own up to her mistakes.
She figures that a lot of this dysfunction stems from her own behavior and it's now or never- to make things right.
Alex, Wilma and Leanna all live with her.
Wilma works fulltime, Leanna goes to school and she stays at home to watch her grandson.
Although they have their ups and downs they are content with their lives together.
And it didn't take long for toddler Alex to grow into a cute little boy.
And with little Alex going back to school. . . .apart of Sandi. . . kinda.
maybe.
wanted another one of her own.
Leanna on the other hand was focused on school!
EveShe wanted, so badly, to be on her own, go to University and get a good job.
Even though she loved her mother dearly, she was really focused and wanted to avoid the mistakes Wilma and her mother made.
However, that didn't mean she didn't have time for her crush, Christopher. She'd call him up every other hour, hoping he'd one day feel the same way as her.
She also enjoyed spending time with her little nephew. He was more like a little brother to her anyways. . .and they were like two peas in a pod.

However when the crush did come to visit she made it her mission to look her best.
Perhaps today was the day she'd steal his heart. . .and possibly a kiss too!
"George!!" She squeeled greeting him with a hug.
He was so warm. . . .
Who said her crush was secret?
He knew how she felt about him and didn't really discourage the feelings- in fact he embraced them!
They had met at Amelia's Closet, a clothing store he worked in. The friendship was instant and the chemistry seemed even more natural.
"So come on in. . .my brother and his dad are coming over for dinner tonight, you can meet everyone," she smirked.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Meanwhile back inside. . . Sandi was on the phone making arrangements with her son.
After telling him to pick up a salad on his way over, she had one final request. . .
"Just make sure your dad doesn't bring his girlfriend over okay?" Sandi sighed
It was obvious. She still had feelings for Deacon, probably more so now than she ever did.
And even though he was doing his own thing. . . and they both had been for over 20 years, a part of her still just wanted to make it work.
~*~*~*~*~
The stop for salad took a little longer than hoped and George fidgeted as he waited with Leanna for her brother to arrive. . .
He'd been looking forward to meeting everyone. . . possibly asking Leanna to be his girlfriend but it was getting late and in particular he was running late for work.
"I really wish I could stay Leanna but I have to go straight to work from here," he sighed disappointed in himself.
"Awww. I'm sorry. They shoulda been here by now. . .I really wanted you to meet D.J," she sighed.
"Yeah me too. . . .I'll tell you what I'll call you as soon as my shifts done," he smiled trying to cheer her up.
"Okay, I'll be waiting!" she smirked.
. . . .
"Alright then. . . . talk to you later,"
and just like that they kissed.
It wasn't the most romantic setting, but it was causal, sweet and proved he was feeling the exact same way.
They both gave each other a look of relief. . . .almost as if they were saying I've been waiting to do that.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Soon after George left D.J and his dad arrived. I guess Leanna got her subtle crushing skills from Sandi, considering she was not shy about showing Deacon how she felt.
"Hey Deacon, come on in," she smirked holding his hand.
After the both entered Sandi did the motherly thing and asked her son what he's been up too.
"Hows Star, Have you guys worked things out? How come she's not here" Sandi stated as she started to pick at her son.
"She's good ma. . . she's just busy tonight" he sighed. He always hated when she pried, but knew she was his mom and that came with the territory.
Alex was always EXTRA excited with his uncle D.J and Deacon came over.
D.J looked at Alex as one of his own. . . and his dad thought a lot of him as well.
"Uncle Deacon. . . when can I come over and play?" he smiled
"I'll tell you what. . . the next time me and D.J goes on vacation. You're coming too!" he smirked.
His face lit up as he ran over to D.J, to tell him the good news.

Dinner went well. It was was nice to have everyone over and enjoying themselves.
Deacon enjoyed the change too! Normally it would be all fine dining and elegant company but. . . tonight was just good old wholesome fun.
Sandi felt like this was what he life should be. A guy like Deacon (who is flawed in many ways, but compliments her because of her own mistakes) who is just there to grow old with.
As she washed the dishes she knew that tonight was the only right time to tell him how she felt.
And no matter how many boyfriends she's had in the past, he was her first and only true love.
~*~*~*~*~*~
"I have something to confess," she smiled.
"What is it," he asked.
"It's about tonight. . . and I dunno, my intentions of asking you to come alone," she sighed.
"Do you need more money. . . you know I got you covered," he offered.
. . . . .
"No, it's nothing like that. . .it's just,"
"it's just what,"
"I really care about you Deac, I never stopped," she whispered.
"Sandi. . . I have a girlfriend," he smirked.
". . . we know it's not serious. Plus, no strings.
Let's just give it a shot," she smiled.
"It ended badly before," he added, remembering all the drama between them.
Things were starting to get better, whats the point of ruining it in a relationship?
"We we were kids," she sighed.
. . . . . . .

It didn't take too much convincing for Deacon to find himself in Sandi's bedroom.
Cuddling up next to her, he figured he'd may else well stay the night.
