Star and Deacon just finished refurnishing their new apartment and are starting to get set in their ways.
Media attention has died down quite a bit since Star chose Deacon in her reality show A Shot at Love, and the couple finally has a chance to get to know each other without the pressure of the spotlight.
Things hadn't changed much.
They both shared the same off camera chemistry as they did when the spot light was directly in their faces.
The only issue between them was timing.
~*~*~*~*~
For the most part, when they were together they seemed to always have the time of their live. . . .but it was becoming more and more difficult to mesh their schedules together.
Star was working early mornings and late nights. Juggling upcoming movies, promotions and her new album.
Deacon on the other hand, took up a DJ job. . . .which had him out all night for a few nights out of the week.
But that was work. Trust me, it wasn't half as fun as it sounds.
And when he wasn't DJing, he was bored.
Like usual, Star hadn't shown like she said she would. . . which was understandable since she was Star but sitting in an empty apartment alone wasn't really his ideal life. He needed something to do.
He decided to hook up with his friend Dame to just hang out at one of the local clubs. He missed the scene. He missed the attention and the fun he used to stir up before becoming in the public eye.
He had almost forgot what it was like to just let loose.
While at the club he also met up with an old friend. . . . Saffron Sun.
The two dated while they were in College. . . well, while she was in College and Deacon was just in College.
They hadn't seen each other in awhile and Deacon immediately had to know what was up.
"Saf!?"
"No way, Deac?" she smiled in disbelief.
"What's up!!" he smiled back.
"Nothing much. . . I thought you were in L.A or something?" she smiled.
"We got back about a month ago. . . . come mere girl," he smiled giving her a hug.
"Oh my gosh, it's so good to see you. I watched you on Shot at Love. Congrats, I knew she'd like you!" she said.
Deacon laughed.
"Thanks. How've you been. . . I want to hear everything? Did you ever get that job?"
"Yeah. I work at Second Chance Group Home these days," she smiled.
"So I'm assuming you'll be drinking tonight. Can I buy you something?" he teased.
She laughed.
"Nah, I gotta be back there in a couple of hours. . . supposed to be setting an example," she smiled.
"You. . . and example," he teased.
"Yes. me," she smiled.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
For the remainder of the night they continued to hang out and catch up.
They swapped numbers and promised to keep in touch.
Deacon couldn't wait for her to meet Star.
~*~*~*~*~*~
But when Deacon got home. . . he just couldn't sleep.
He kept thinking about all the fun he had with Saffron and the fact that was eating at his conscious.
He wanted to be thinking about Star.
So he waited up until she got home.
"Your still up?" Star smiled as she walked in the door.
"Waiting for my baby," Deacon smiled back.
"I'm sorry about tonight. Things got hectic. They insisted I go out with them," she sighed.
"Nah. No problem. . . I just hung out with Dame," he smiled.
"Good. You gotta come out with us next time," she said taking his hand.
Deacon didn't really care for small talking with producers and Star's executive friends. They already had their opinions of him. . . the fact that Star actually kept seeing Deacon after the show was surprising to all of them.
"Yeah. Maybe," he smiled back.
"So are we gonna talk about the movie?
We got breakfast with mom tomorrow and then. . . I know you got that thing," he smiled.
"I'm beat babes," she sighed.
"Just one drink sweetheart," he smiled.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Star and Deacon stayed up talking for a bit. Deacon felt good about making this gesture, he knew he had to make it work with Star regardless of their crazy hours.
After a couple of drinks things started to get a little. . . out of control.
Star was kind of taken back by Deacons new found . . . energy.. . BUT enjoyed it none-the-less.

~The Next Morning~
"What got into you last night?" Star smirked.
"Nothing. . . maybe we should do things like that more often," he smirked back as he lifted her up.
"How often," she whispered.
Deacon laughed.
"Ma's coming over. . . so not that often,"
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Sandi showed up just as planned and Deacon was happy to see her.
Breakfast with his mother was going pretty good.
Star really liked Sandi and Sandi felt the same way.
That was until something was brought up. . . .
"Asia is getting ready for college you should give her some of your textbooks"
"Fa sure.
Let me know which ones she needs and they're hers
. . . .
Speaking of college. . .
Ran into Saff yesterday,"
"Saffron. Oh how is she?
"Good. She's working at her group home,"
"Was it awkward meeting her Star?" Sandi smiled.
"I don't know what you mean," Star smiled back.
"Saffron, Deacons ex. Was it awkward meeting her?" she giggled.
Star looked at Deacon and Sandi got the hint.
"Oh. . . . . "
The rest of the breakfast was a little quiet. Deacon tried to keep the spirit and the conversation going but Star wasn't having it.
After Sandi left that's when things started to unrevel.
"How come you never talked about Saffron?" Star questioned.
"What do you mean, I told you about my exes. . . " Deacon sighed.
"No. No you haven't.
You told me about girls. . . none that you were serious about," she snapped.
"Who says I was serious about Saffron?" Deacon replied.
"Whatever,"
"I wasn't hiding anything from you, we took a picture last night,
I hung it up in the livingroom and everything.
We were good friends,"
Star rushed from the table and went over to where the picture was hanging. She was so off focus last night, that she didn't even notice the picture.
"Are you serious?" she said staring at it.
"Whats wrong with that?"
"You have a picture of yourself and an ex girlfriend up in our house.
I can tell you at least 3 things wrong with that!" Star sighed.
"She's a good friend,"
"Deacon. . . . Just take it down.
I can't deal with this right now," Star signed.
Deacon was quiet.
"I'm going to be late," she said walking away.
Deacon watched as Star left. He felt guilty.
He felt guilty and he didn't even do anything wrong.
Deacon went back inside to take the picture down.
If it hurt Star so much, he would get rid of it.
Though, he didn't feel like he should have to choose between an old friend and a new girlfriend.
That was unfair.
Deacon decided to work on some music to calm his nerves. . . .
But Star kept popping in his head throughout the day. . . . and Saffron wasn't too far behind either.
Deacon decided to call one of his friends over to hang out. Maybe he'd be able to keep his mind off of the fight.
Dame was more than happy to hang out. He was an odd ball kinda guy, but he had a good head on his shoulders.
Dame had heard the whole story over the phone and was eager to put his opinion in it.
"Why would you hang up the picture?" Dame laughed.
"I'm telling you man, there's nothing to hide," Deacon smirked.
"Your an idiot. There's always something to hide when it comes to an Ex," Dame teased.
The rest of the night they hung around drinking beers and thinking about ways to make this right.
. . . . .
I guess Deacon would have to arrange a meeting.
Star was cool right?
She wouldn't jump all over Saff. . . .
right?
