I really like the way you wrote Natasha's history into the SPN universe. Well done and, yes, heart breaking.

Damn, you really weren't kidding on the dark. Nice blend of the canon. I won't say it was a fun read, but it was certainly an interesting one.

And by hours, I apparently meant weeks, sorry. D: In my defense, between work and school I have very little free time, and it has been very difficult to have a coherent response to this, because all I keep going back to is SFLKJSDFLSJDFLSDF

I loved this far more than I can hope to fully articulate.

First thing first, exchange fics tend to go on the happier and lighter side of the spectrum -- you could write a darker fic for your recipient, but there’s always a greater risk that it won’t be what the recipient wants, and that’s every writer’s fear in exchanges, which leads, again, to fic being on the happier side of the spectrum. Writing a darker fic is a risk, and I am happy to tell you that it paid off in full, because this is exactly what I wanted. Not what I was expecting, but actually all the better for that

• CLINT AS A VESSEL AND GRETA AND WITCHES AND I LOVED THAT MOVIE AN ABSURD AMOUNT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ABSURD and so actually incorporating it into this in a canon-meshing way made me so very happy!

• and on that note: Supernatural is a very male-dominant show. Arguably, so was the Avengers. And in this, you carried through that male-dominance, how Clint and Bucky were both very important to Natasha, but the story was never not about Natasha. That is an incredible balance to strike, and you did it perfectly.

• all the winter imagery. I am legit curious: did you through my journal to find out what my favorite narrative tropes/kinks are, or are you just incredibly good at guessing?

• FURY. I liked his mentions, and the implications that he was part Bobby, part their boss. I loved the brief glimpses into other hunters we got on the show (sort of), and that information network, and (the implication of) Fury (with Maria!) heading it made me happy.

• I felt like the “Does it even matter? Any of it?” / “
