LOL it shows what a terrible Criminal Minds fan I am that I didn't even know Hotch had an abusive father but I really liked how you tied that part of his past to his feelings about Grimms and his inability to trust Nick at first. And of course, it informs his own relationship with his son. I'm glad he decided to tell Jack at the end. :)

Well it's never been flat out said, but the hints towards it are pretty clear, esp. in one line of Hotch where he said that some victims of child abuse become abusers, and others become those who fight against it. (or something like it)

This is great! I think that aspect of the show--how different Nick is than the traditional Grimm--is really interesting, and I like how you drew attention to it here.

I think it's what drew me to the show in the first place. That Nick isn't your average fighter of supernatural creatures, that he's a cop first and foremost.
