Gosh, this was great! I loved seeing Portland through John's eyes and the contrast between Monroe and Sherlock was wonderful. I especially liked this line:

After so long living with Sherlock’s gloom, irascibility and condescension, Monroe’s casual kindness was almost more shocking than his ability to turn into a wolf.
Brilliant! ♥

Thank you--I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It was pretty fun to imagine John's reactions to Portland. Thanks for pulling out that line--I'm glad it worked okay.

Love that John so easily gets along with Monroe and Nick, but then, they're nice people to get to know :-)

Poor John doesn't get much opportunity to interact with nice people (maybe excepted Mrs. Hudson)--and Monroe, especially, could probably get along with anybody :)

thanks for reading!

I'm glad! It was pretty fun to try to imagine what John would make of ordinary PNW life, let alone Wesen.

This? Was awesome! I especially loved this line:

Afterward, perhaps as compensation for the disappointment, Nick treated John to a bacon donut-a proposition that sounded as oxymoronic as a vegan werewolf but which tasted surprisingly good.

And this one:

He bit into the pastry, which was as delicious as predicted. One sip of the coffee, though, and he forgave Portland all its shapeshifters and ninjas, the size of its raindrops, and the jetlag he’d incurred to get there.

Great job!

Thank you--I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It was pretty fun to try and imagine what John would make of regular life in the PNW, let alone Wesen. (imagine my glee when google told me Voodoo Donuts was a big attraction in Portland!
