In every early draft I had the demons actually killing people and those were the bodies that Beckett and Castle had to investigate... but I couldn't deal with those bodies being on Castle's conscious.

This story was grand fun. I have missed Buffy and Giles (Giles!) so very much, and it was a delight to see them interacting with Castle and Beckett.
