Yee, thank you, thank you! So happy to know we pleased our requester!!! Your prompts were delicious to ponder, and we had so much fun with this, I can't tell you -- once we settled on the time period where Neal and Sherlock were interacting, it just unfolded nicely, one bit after another. Took work, of course, to try to get their voices right (especially Sherlock, the bastard!), and to figure where each would be in their lives, and what impact they should have on each other, but really, really fun to write

Holy cow, this was lovely! Sherlock and Neal are such kindred spirits, and it's great to see them cooperating in their younger days. Sherlock's thought process and methods were great. The way you paint their connection and their individual motivations was wonderful. I loved the journey from the drifting Sherlock we see at the beginning through to his decision to go to Mycroft for help, and let everything change. Very neat to see how Neal figures in to that. Eminently entertaining, clever, well-characterized, and everything I love in a crossover!
Thank you! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed their connection -- they were a delightful pair to work with, and Sherlock's journey was fun to unwind. "Well-characterized" is everything we can hope for in a compliment!!
The world's a better place without having Sherlock as a criminal mastermind, but oh what a team they would have made, if they'd stuck together from here!
Thank you so much for the kind words, we're really happy to have heard what you think. :D
Oh, thank you! As much a delight as it is to hear we've got the characterizations down, it's also always wonderful to hear the story holds up on a second (or third, etc.) read. :D
The sketch is all shinychimera; I'm always in awe of her talent, there. And we figured there might be Sherlock people who don't know what Neal looks like, and vice-versa (also, Babybatch!), so...
Oh, thank you so much -- we're very excited to get a rec! Was very much hoping our bb!Neal would be entertaining for WC fans, and glad you enjoyed the story. :)
