Oh wow! This is FANTASTIC. All the details, the background plots - it has all been woven seamlessly together. I love that not only does this help Susan, but it also helped Ariadne. Wonderful! And the dreams themselves were marvellous as well! Wonderful, wonderful job!
Also, I snickered when I thought of Eames going in as Aslan.
Thanks you SO MUCH, I've been on tenterhooks waiting for this to be posted and see if it was any good - it's my first go writing Inception fic, and I haven't done Narnia since the last exchange! The thought of Eames going in as Aslan was an extremely tempting one, but alas, I had to let it go.
Susan! being practical and wonderful and beautiful (and those subtle hints that she's not aging quite right!) and the teaaaaaam, and Arthur and Ariadne being adorable, and Eames being sarcastic and English and TEA and Miiiiles, who is great.
you're AMAZING. This is just - this is fantastic. <33333
I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT THAT IS SUCH A RELIEF YOU HAVE NO IDEA
Also big relief that you liked the Arthur/Ariadne. I came away from the film loving the pair of them and when I figured this story would be about Ariadne and Susan on parallel journeys, and Ariadne needing a connection to the real world she was neglecting... well, it made sense to ME, but I'm so glad YOU liked it as well :D:D:D:D
I think the most brilliant touch in the whole thing was that thread of Ariadne kind of getting addicted to the dreams. Like Ritalin or something. It was a very plausible extension of the Inception world that I would never have thought of. Loved her friendship with Arthur and how he knew.
Eames was amazing. I kind of like that Cobb was vetoed, because it really gave Eames a chance to shine as a project leader. Oh god, and the Narnia you made was so beautiful. The White Witch as a Mal substitute... amazing.
And just overall, your take on the Susan SItuation is beautiful. Like, why is it so bad to just want to live the life you find yourself in rather than living in the past? There's nothing wrong with that. No reason to be punished.
And the whole thing with the train in both fandoms!!!!!!!! Brilliant!!
This was just so thoughtful and gripping and well-written and AMAZING. A real masterpiece. <3
