I love this! Oh man, Felix-Kara tension aboard Serenity... that's unexpected, but such a perfect way for them to work out their differences. It's a heterotopia, a concept we've been discussing in class... when characters are taken completely out of their element into a world beyond the rules that govern their lives so that changes can be made that would have been impossible otherwise. And it works so well! They can work through their issues by being with these people who are so different from them, with an end to the journey in sight... I'm glad they got to clear the air, even if they'll never be friends.

Plus, adventure! And Felix-Simon! And a kitty! Ma'am, if you ever feel compelled to write more of this verse, even just snippets of life on the planets, I will not complain. This is a thing of beauty.

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)

Second of all, thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed this- I had a really good time writing it. I have a real soft spot for Simon-Felix friendship- I can totally see them being BFF. I was debating doing an epilogue where the Serenity crew stopped by Haven, where Gaeta and Hoshi were living, and Kara caught Felix up on the gossip. (I'm debating where everyone went, though.)

Thanks so much! :) My only regret is I couldn't work Tom Zarek/Patience into this. :(

The Zoe smackdown scene may be one of the best things I have ever ever read. *applauds* I would say more but my brain is fried right now but this is one of my favorite fics ever. :)

Thanks! :) I was kind of surprised at first. Zoe was being really quiet in my brain, and I guess this is why.

So glad you enjoyed it!

Wow, this was really great. I really liked Zoe in this chapter, as well as - again - the Kara/Gaeta interaction. I was amused about Zoe putting Gaeta in line, though both Gaeta and Kara really could have done being a lot more professional in the first place (I personally would have expected Gaeta to do the "Yes sir, no sir" routine in the first place, but there's certainly room for interpretation).

Also,

A horse. In his wildest dreams, Felix had never seen himself charging into a battle on a horse.

LOL.

Again, this was a wonderful, very complete story that I enjoyed an awful lot. It was nice to see the BSG cast have a happy ending in a way they never got to have in canon.

Thanks!

I agree that Kara and Felix both could have been more professional :) But it did seem like things were getting relaxed on the Demetrius, and Felix was definitely losing his strict adherence to protocol there, and I could just see it getting more relaxed on Serenity. Besides, it was more fun that way :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it- I ended up having a lot of fun writing this one. And you're right- it was great to write them having a happy ending. (Because in this universe, Dee so many more of them LIVE. Not only Dee, but Gunny Mathias makes it there alive! Even Cally might survive!)

Excellent read. You really got the characterizations spot on.
I especially liked the whole Kara/Gaeta interaction. Those two had a lot to get out between them and it felt very realistic.

Thanks so much! I really enjoyed writing this one, and it was a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun to take Kara and Gaeta someplace lighter, where they could pound it out and actually come to a vaguely positive resolution as well.

Thanks for reading!

Yay, I finally got the chance to read this! I know you've said you're not comfortable with dialect, but I thought you got the Firefly flavor of the dialogue very well. The cross-over character interactions were great; I love the Simon-Gaeta and Kaylee-Gaeta stuff (of course Kaylee would be a 'shipper ;) ), and Kara-Mal is awesome. I was really surprised by Zoe's role and how well it fit. She really stood out, though everyone got some great moments to shine.

Thanks so much! I had a great time writing this- especially a lot of the dynamics you pointed out. These two universes were a lot of fun to cross over. I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
