The Catcher in the Rye was absolutely terrible. I didn't even finish it. I read half of it, and I was too bored to finish. However, I did read "Autobiography of a Face" which is an excellent, hauntingly beautiful memoir of woman's battle with cancer, tracking her life from a young girlhood to adulthood. If people weren't so complex, then life would just be boring and repetitive. Predictable people get on my nerves. True, you and I will never know eachothers' motives, or janes motives, or Congress' motives, but who would really want all that info anyway? What good would it do? The way I see it, figuring people out will only do you some good when you want to manipulate them. :/ I must be looking at it from a different angle from you though. Ironically, my reasoning behind this is complex.
