Super interesting about the people with those patterns.... and of course we'd have more respect for it in the fandom, methinks... as also with those born covered with hair/fur .. (hirsute) ... Ideally it is just as you said, something attractive and diversified. With the way people can be cruel though, realistically I'd always be a bit worried at first, considering all the harassment they may have had growing up.
The people in this article seem well-adjusted, but possibly many others have not coped as well... which is sad.. mostly as a commentary on 'humanity' ..
