This will be massively TMI. If female issues and/or menstruation squick you, avoid reading.

I'm kind of amused by this. Half way through a horrible period, I decided I was switching. I ran out of tampons today, so went to the store. What do I find, but a diva cup for sale. I didn't actually buy it since it was $40, and I was kind of leery about spending that much on something that I might not like. However they did have disposable soft cups for $5 which were similar so I decided to get those. I read up on them and they insert and sit in a different position that the diva cup, but are pretty much the same thing for all intents and purposes. I just changed my first one after 8 hours and had no problem. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a diva cup or something similar for my next period.

The price was my initial issue originally when I first started thinking about it. But I managed to get it on sale *cheers* (I love unexpected, unmarked sale items!).

When I stopped the other day I had grabbed the pads first and I wondered if the store was carrying those disposable soft cup ones, but I saw the Diva cup first. I didn't see the others, but it's $30-40 and reusable. I spend a good $10-20 a month as it is on pads and tampons (massively heavy flow for the TMI :D) so it was worth the price to me.

It's day three, no leaks and I only had a problem getting it back in this morning, but that was more because I wasn't quite awake yet.

I'd say go for. There's several brands and styles out there. check out youtube, they've got a tonne of videos on them.

Yeah, I'm probably going to. I have a heavy flow in the beginning that tapers off, so I missed the worst of it with these cups. I'll do some research this month and see what I can find.

I'm the same way. I have 2-3 days really heavy and clotting, then it tapers off. I'm loving it so far. If I had found the soft cups I might have tried them first, but they didn't have them. See how they work next month then maybe switch to the Diva Cup or something like it.

I used a Keeper for almost 15 years. That $30 went a loooong way. I was sad to toss it after my hysterectomy last year.

I love my cotton pads, too. I know the $150 I spent 16 years ago saved me a lot of money!

I just heard about these recently. I have trouble with tampons. I feel them always, so I'm majorly uncomfortable when wearing them. And pads are such a hassle. My Diva Cup rocks so far.
As I said to heeroluva, I've only had a problem with it this morning, and that was more the not-awake-lack-of-brain thing. I'm so not a morning person. Or a just-woke-up person.
