So. I have a hand-me-down iPod (note that "hand-me-down" is notperjorative, and is instead a factual descriptor and does not connote just how grateful I am to have received it). It has its quirks. One of them is not liking to communicate with my PC all that well. Yes, note I said PC. I know, I know.

I feel like I've lost a hand. )

I love that you call it “Ford Prefect’s Towel”! That’s awesome!
Sorry to hear it choked, though. I don’t have any sort of music myself, but I realize I’m an anomaly (in more ways than one, I’m sure) and that most people find them indispensable. Hope it gets fixed!

I have a Nano and have only had one or two instances of ny PC not recognizing it, and both times it was easily and quickly remedied. I've never had any other issues with it.
