LJ Idol 10: Where I Am Now

I've been living in a a local hotel while my kitchen floor, victim of a longstanding undetected leak, is being replaced. If I remain here into next week, it will be just shy of a month since I slept in my own bed, watched Netflix, cooked from scratch. LOL, I thought of that during our conversation. It's hard to say just how many of them are here because I've only seen most of them maybe twice. I happen to see her the most because she's the most visible of them. Haven't seen any kids in the past few days, which is interesting.

Apparently there's a network of hotels around here which house them on a rotating basis, according to P. They have to keep moving as they go through the system, and the ones who've been in it the longest, like P, are housed in places like my hotel, which is the top of the heap, housing-wise.

The contractor initially said by Thursday or Friday of this week. The floor has been repaired and the tile laid but not grouted. They're on an emergency job right now, so I'm thinking either this weekend early next week at the latest :crosses fingers:

The fact that she started it is very telling. I didn't dare detail the meat of the conversation because what she said still frightens me on a few levels. Her behavior, too, the longer she talked.
