For most, pre-dawn hours are meant solely for sleeping.  For Scott Summers, they’re meant for a quiet cup of coffee - dark roasted and black, always black.  At this hour, the students are all asleep and the only noise is the television.  Scott sat on the rec room’s couch to drink his coffee while reading the newspaper.

The front page had him ( Read more... )

Oh, nice. This covers what life must be like for them, you know? The students and life at the school, the growing political situation -- all of it. Nice!

I'm always fascinated by what daily life must be like at the Institute, and this was my way to explore that. That and Scott and Jean never really act like an engaged couple on screen - and, well, I'm all about that ship.

Glad you liked it. Thank you for reading!

I loved this! The story came across as being honest, real, and engaging. I particularly loved the interaction between Scott and Jean, Scott and the students, and Jean and the students. Thank you so very much!

Oh, good! I'm so glad you like it! This was my first ficathon, and I didn't want to disappoint my requester.

btw, I started outlining a story for your first request - I believe dealing with camping and marshmallows. If I get a chance to finish it, I'll let you know.

Oh, just what I need, a nice, happy, Jott fic.

You just made my day!

Yay! I'm glad you liked it.

I like to see Scott and Jean facing conflict, but not always with each other. Trying to manage the Institute with Xavier gone definitely opened the door for such an opportunity.

What a lovely slice-of-life fic! I really enjoyed reading all the distractions that kept them from their wedding plans, especially the tough kids who want to be able to fight. And Scott's right, what the Professor says in the final section really does put it all into perspective.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I wanted to nod to Scott and Jean's engagement, since throughout X1 and X2 there's little mention of it. What better way then just throwing life at them? And the professor steps in the end to teach a lesson of his own to Scott and receives confirmation that he's is still needed by the older and younger students.

Nicely done. Takes on several issues at once without being overwhelming or rushed.

Thank you! I was concerned about both those things, so I'm glad it worked for you.
