HEE! I love you!!!!!!!!!!! (Just look at all the exclamation point!)

Is there real pleasure in seeing him? Or is it the prospect of toying with him a little again that makes her smile?
I admit, I think it’s the latter. Though she asn’t /intending/ to toy with him, there is always a give and take to their exchanges that is refreshing and interesting.

I like verbal flirting. A lot. I miss doing it. The hubby is not so up on innuendo. This is why I play Emma! And why she likes that exchange. So pleasure, yes, but also anticipation.

which means that in a way, Rossi has seen Emma in a way that maybe very few (nobody?) has ever really seen.
She’s not played a persona like that for anyone else. Especially where she coms back time and again for it. I think the person who has seen Emma the closest to this is Scott, and he saw her as he /wanted/ to see her.

Emma assumes an awful lot, doesn't she?
Yes, yes she does. But is it assumption when one just /knows/?

For all he complains about powerful mutants toying with him, he shares the same ( ... )

Would she choose to be second to someone, say Jean, if it meant that a greater good would be fulfilled? If she knew it would mean being second forever?
Hmm. I’d like to say yes, if the good was great enough, but I think the answer is no. What she would do is be subserviant until the good was accomplished, then plot her way out of the arrangement.

Commentaries are funny. I read back over the stuff I'm saying and it sounds like we were being /so deep/ when we played this, but really, we weren't.
Hahah. True!

To Emma, I think to some extent she maybe views it as just another pretty suit in a wardrobe.
She does, but I think she recognizes it means something to Chris. She just doesn’t really get what that is.

Emma manipulates Chris rather well in this scene, though I don't know that it was really conscious or intended to be manipulation.OOCly? It was conscious, and I was responding to an awareness that Emma definitely had as well that pushing Chris at this moment was not a smart step. She actually does like him, and would like him ( ... )

A lot of Emma is is wrapped up in that need to be loved, I think. (Disclaimer: I do not play Emma, so really? I am just talking out my ass when I make these random statements about her.
Hahahah. But yes, true. I think Jean said once that she runs her court like a personality cult, with her the center of the adoring throng. She likes to be loved. It puts her in control. It also sates her. Emma is most out of control when she doesn’t have someone loving her (and to love?) grounding her. Before the DP, it was Scott, Percy, Warren… Now? It’s probably Adel. (I don't mean love as in /love/, but love as in steadfast loyalty. Er. She really doesn't have a good scorecard so far there, does she?)

It would certainly be a challenge to win over that defensiveness, so there's that appeal, but I surmise that there is more to it. Simply calling him a challenge is a convenient white lie, like Rossi's, and prevents Emma from lifting the covers to look at anything uglier or more compelling underneath. Forgiveness for what she did; understanding, ( ... )
