Don't go mentioning X-Men in public places, if that's what you were doing. Even Sanctuary. That is good sense. If nothing else, you don't want random mutants, who could be anyone, knowing who you have ties to. You could get some nut kidnapping you and torturing you until the Institute took notice and acceding to their demands or whatever ...

And X-Factor ... unless it's taken a sharp turn away from fighting at all, would be vigilante. X-Men borders on vigilante -- only, I believe Jean has ties to the police, so it's all right.
