Leah needed the chance to let it out -- just vent about all the slights and uncertainties and, oh, her life is uncertain right now. And I really think this is a lovely vent. The nuance of phrase is right, sounds like someone /talking/. Rarely hear characters in my head, myself, but I heard it here. Very nice exchange.

And the Sound of Silence ref made me verra happy.

I'm glad you liked it! Yes, Leah needs to talk more. Why she doesn't is partly her fault (not sharing, touchiness, trying to cling to dignity, lack of experience in that stuff), but mostly mine (the fear of being an attention suck, grabbing the spotlight, swanning and angsting and LOOK AT MEEEEE). We, she and I, will get over it. Can let your chars wallow only so much before they suck and you must fix them or put them down.

And she does need these better moments in the course of the ongoing storyline, yes? Narrative balance.

I hear her better in scenes, too! Helps, having the alt on vacation. He tends to crowd her out in my head. Big surprise. ;)

I agree. She /talks/. I can hear her mentally as I read, and that's a rare thing. Very, very nice log. And poor Sabby.

Heh. Poor Leah /and/ Sabby, and poor battered Horton.

I am totally stealing some phrases from this log for my future RP. Also? Very very nice scene. Both characters had a really good voice in this, and it's always good to see Leah just let it out when she's prone to keeping it bottled up.
