Heroic Age was a DELIGHT, omg.

I wrote up my critical views on Second Coming elsewhere on the internets -- http://fantasticfangirls.org/?p=2501

But Heroic Age was a DELIGHT.

The Girl Comics Wolverine & Jubilee story was pretty much my favorite thing EVER.

*millions of hearts* That was the story about those two I'd been waiting to read. Seriously, Jubilee = SO AWESOME.

I had a slight issue with the Heroic Age, where on the one hand we had Hank explaining how becoming extinct -- like the dinosaurs -- was a Bad Thing, and on the other Cyclops and Cap were casually slaughtering dinosaurs "to clear my head".

On the other hand... Cyclops and Cap! Hanging out together! And Wikipedia doesn't have a category for fictional recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Also, Franklin's pep talk to Hope was cool. Especially his "you're one of those".

Second Coming ended pretty much the way it had to end considering the layout of the pieces on the board. SC#2 had some nice moments.

Heroic Age had me squeeing all over the place right up until Scott threw away the medal. I thought you were supposed to be clearing your head, son! Like it or not, that's a resource and you need all the resources you can find.

Because y'all know this spate of goodwill won't last.

Good to see more being done with Franklin, both here and in the FF. My fingers are crossed that it continues.

Oh, Scott blatantly spent the next six hours thinking: "Maybe if I ask Namor, he can find it. Wait, should I ask Namor? What if I just mention it to Namor, and he just happens to find it? What if Namor can't find it? Would that be better or worse than if I didn't ask him to find it?"

Meanwhile, Emma has already had Namor fetch it, and she's keeping it for when he's cleared his head. Again.

In my personal fanon, Magneto saw him throw it and immediately retrieved it. Knowing from personal experience the value of such trinkets, he plans to install it in an unbreakable case in the lobby of the Academic building when they get that up and running again.

The store where I went was out of, like, everything X except Second Coming, which I was informed (by another patron) that "heavy shit goes down." I'm still pissed about what happened to Julian so I didn't read it.

I did, though, manage to read the Jubilee and Wolverine story and...completely loved it. This is the Wolverine I love and it was just so touching and sweet.
