Non-mutant AU. Charles is a successful professor at Oxford, engaged to be married to his longtime girl friend and all around living the high life.

Then one night he saves a suicidal man from drowning and resolves to help him, and nothing is ever quite the same again.

Bonus points if it's still set in the 1960s and deals w/ the issue w/ being homosexual at that time.

I absolutely love this! It's amazing and I'm really liking how the story is progressing. Charles stopping Erik and then diving after him is totally in character. I like the way you managed to incorporate some of the lines from the movie as well. It didn't feel out of place ... you used them well.

Their interactions are lovely. Erik's description of Charles- The man was like a tiny, idealistic tornado- was hilarious.

I can't wait to see what you do next! Wonderful job! :)
