Sign-ups are now open! Today through November 3!

Please use the form in the text box below to submit your xmas_rocks sign-up. Copy and paste it into your comment to this post, which will be screened so that no one but me can see it. I will not respond to the comment directly (as that would UNscreen it), but will instead send you an email to either confirm that your sign-up has been accepted as is, or let you know if for any reason it is not accepted and needs to be revised and resubmitted.

The only comments here that will be unscreened are any technical questions on how the exchange works. However, please be sure you've read the F.A.Q. before signing up, as that should answer all of the questions you might have.

While completing your sign-up, please keep the following things in mind:

1. For Requests and Offers, you must stick with those on the the final pairings list below. Any other requested pairings cannot be accepted at this time.

2. Requests: You must request at least 3 different pairings, and they should not all be from the same band (although a crossover can count as different). We want to make sure everyone gets a match, so please be flexible in what you will accept storywise.

You can request up to 5 different pairings. In fact, the more you request the better, as this will make the odds of being able to match every requester to a writer much easier. I also strongly urge that at least 1 or 2 of your requested pairings be more common ones (that is, pairings you've actually seen written and posted somewhere before, instead of all never-seen-before crossovers.) I know you may have your heart set on that Pete Wentz/King Diamond story, but just to be on the safe side (and to save me matching nightmares), please throw in a couple less rare pairing choices.

3. Prompts: Since some folks are clearly eager to suggest story ideas, you are allowed to include prompts or requests with each pairing if you have any. Some authors certainly appreciate a little guidance in knowing what kind of story you might enjoy receiving. This can also include things you'd prefer not to read in your story. However, please remember that authors are not bound to follow your prompts. The only thing an author is bound to do is write the specific pairing requested.

4. Offers: You must offer at least 4 pairings you are willing to write. You're only going to have to write one, but you have to offer at least 4 possibilities. Again, we would like to ask that they not all be from one band, though crossovers are fine and will count towards diversity of offerings. Please take your time to thoroughly look through the nomination pairing list, and offer to write as many of the pairings as you honestly believe you could tackle. It doesn't have to be your favorite pairings, or ones you've written before. But if you think you could handle 1,000 words about that given pairing, please consider offering it. The more pairings every author volunteers to write, the easier it will be for me to match people up.

5. If you would like to revise your sign-up, you may do so anytime up to the deadline of November 3. Just comment again under the same username as you did for your first sign-up, and your information will be updated.

6. Please be sure to list both the pairing number and full description off the list. For instance,

195. Crossover (Mark Bolan, T.Rex/Syd Barrett, Pink Floyd)

...as this will help me make sure that all data is correctly saved.

7. Linking to a recent writing sample. As stated in the FAQ, this is simply to confirm that all who sign up are actually active writers up for the challenge of writing a story on demand for the exchange. If all of your fiction is under lock somehow, please email me directly a sample at mailto:sidewinder72@earthlink.net. (RockFic authors, just let me know--if I don't already--your RockFic username.)

Here for your convenience is the final pairing list, one more time. As signups come in, I will be updating the list to show for each pairing how many requests it has received, as well as how many offers to write. These will appear in brackets after the name, such as

Aerosmith (Steven Tyler/Joe Perry) [2, 1]

That would mean 2 people have requested the pairing, one person has offered to write it. Pairings will also be color-coded as follows:

Pairings listed in red have more requests than offers, or 1 request & 1 offer (and that may be the same person, though it might not as well).

Pairings in orange have been offered, but no one's requested them yet.

Pairings in green have more offers than requests, or equal numbers but more than 1 each.
