I have no criticisms. I really enjoy interacting with your AU!Azula and think you've done a masterful job in altering her to fit another universe. She's still recognizably Azula, but with her own unique flair. :)
One thing of interest that I'd like to mention is the fact that your Azula is apparently very tall! You have her listed at 5' 5". On the other hand, Canon is a shortie. ( I know it's hard to tell, and I apologize for the image-quality -- I didn't take it -- but it shows Azula at 5' even. Her topknot, of course, doesn't count. ;) Because this is an official storyboard and the only thing we have to go on for the characters' heights, I use it for my Azula. )
This really makes me happy. It really does. I'm really attached to my portrayal of her and yet was always really worried that I was doing it wrong, ya know? So it makes me happy to know that people like her.
And actually, I had no idea how tall Azula was. So that was just a general estimation on my part. I figured she'd be in the five foot range. So thank you for the correction!
I'm really happy to hear that! Believe me, I do like her! I'm positive many other people do, too, but it always feels good to get that confirmation. I don't think what you're doing is wrong at all; it's interesting and very original.
Most people tend to guess on the high side for Azula, but if you really pay attention -- and I do, because I dedicate far too much time to this sort of thing; to Azula, period -- you'll notice that most characters are taller than her.
Here are the characters she's taller than: Aang, Toph, Iroh, Ty Lee.
Here are the characters she's shorter than: everyone else.
Also of note is the fact that Zuko is only 5' 3", maybe 5' 4" on a good day. The Fire siblings are short. Which is weird, because Ursa and Ozai are enormous. They must get the short gene from Iroh.
I didn't actually intend for it to be taken as a correction -- I think it's A-okay if your AU is taller than Canon. But you're welcome all the same! Don't feel that you have to change her height if you don't really want to. Canon will just

I know I'm taller then I was 3 years ago when I was that sunny age of 14. So sunny I don't remember any of it :D
