I don't know what it is but I've been noticing a trend in oversharpened icons from good iconmakers lately. It's not extremely oversharpened but it's bad enough that you notice it easily. It's just so weird. I don't get it.

Maybe it is just a new trend that I wasn't aware of? But I mean, these are REALLY oversharpened. Like you could cut a turkey with how sharp people's jaws are. So strange.

My mom LOVES Crosby Loggins but she is a Folky kind of lady. I think it is more that freaking America is idiots. They have been raised on the talentless teen pop stars, they have no idea what a good singer sounds like. And basically Chloe is known for being a celebutante down under and an "actress". If it was Paris Hilton versus Aretha Franklin, who do think today's teens would chose?

It was kind of cool growing up cause she would get the guitar out and sing to us whenever we asked. Of course, it was always like Peter, Paul, and Mary and James Taylor and Simon & Garfunkel but still. They never got famous, I think their record had like 100 copies if that. She has three or four still left.

And man, if my Nikki-icon doesn't win this week in that comm I entered it in, I am going to be so mad. I loved that icon so much and I was so proud that I finally was able to copy you. LOL

LOL, sadly, today teens would totally pick Paris 'std' Hilton. Which sucks. It just sucks when they keep someone that has less talent than the people who are more talented. It also leads me to believe it's rigged somehow, like you mentioned.

That's awesome. Who doesn't like Simon & Garfunkel? I hope she has those records somewhere safe.

Is it in an icontest that I'm in? LOL, awwwwwww. Well, of course I get inspired by other icon makers, so it's not my style alone :) We all copy from each other lol Lately, I feel like my icons have been crap because I haven't won anything in awhile :(

I am not sure if you are in it or not but it closed so I can show you the icon. I so so so totally copied your style. It didn't win but the icon that won first was totally deserved. I am fine losing, as long as I lose to GOOD icons, you know?

Here is the Nikki-style icon that I made. It is SO copied from you.

I don't watch American Idol wannabe shows (or even American Idol, or any of it predecessors for that matter). You're not going to hear a lot of their songs on the radio afterwards anyways. What's the point in watching and choosing someone (presumably) with talent, when they aren't going to go on the radio?!

Kelly Clarkson, to the best of my knowledge, has only had 3-5 songs go to radio. And she won American Idol some random year. It seems pretty obvious to me that the record companies (who pay people to request songs to be played on the radio, because paying the radio to play songs directly is illegal) don't give a fuck what America wants to listen to, and the older generation of America doesn't buy into the singing reality shows (the older generation meaning the baby boomers who make up the majority of America right now, and who would know a good singer/good music even if it didn't bite them on the ass ( ... )

About the icons: Try rebooting the computer. That's happened to me a few times when I have too many fonts and/or if the computer has been on too long.

If you've recently rebooted and the problem is still there, you might need to get rid of some fonts.

I always reboot my computer before I use PS. Otherwise, I get this weird thing where if I try to make a layer, the help menu opens. LOL Very strange. :)

I did delete a ton of fonts, about 750, and it seems to be a little bit better. They are still pixelated but it isn't as severe as it was. Thanks for the advice.

No problem =) The advice came from my friend (tinier) to me back when we were about 15/16 or 16/17. She used to be a amateur graphic design artist. She was *really* good.

She's currently studying something to do with graphic arts. She aspires to work at Pixar one day, and she's bloody brilliant. She's an excellent speller, and is far better than me, which is saying something since English isn't her mother tongue, and since she pretty much taught herself the English language (if I recall correctly).

PS: Obviously, she has had English classes at school (she's from Brazil), so she hasn't entirely taught herself the English language, but she did teach some (I'd like to say 'a lot,' but I'm not sure if that's true or not) of it to herself by reading online message boards that were in English only at the time.
