After a long discussion and hemming and hawwing, my husband and I decided to get a Wii with our tax return. So far we Indiana Jones 2 and Mario Kart. If anyone has suggestions for games, I'm all ears. And if someone has a Wii and wants our friend code, just let me know ( Read more... )

I thoroughly enjoy Animal Crossing: City Folk and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Animal Crossing is hopelessly addicting, though. -_-

I was thinking about Super Smash Bros because it is an online game you can play with friends. There was an Animal Crossing game that I saw for the PS2 and it looked interesting. I might have to check out City Folk then. :)

Get Wii Sports/Fit or whatever, it legit does help you work out, from the comfort of your home and in a fun way! (My muscles were sore afterwards when playing on my friends'!)

And what are you in grad school for again? I'm starting this summer, which is a bummer in that I'm not used to summer=school...:/

The Fit is so on my list. That was another big factor in picking the Wii because I had heard so many good things about the Fit. My gym membership went up AGAIN and that was the last straw for me. I'd rather just do workouts at home.

I'm getting a Masters in Applied Communication. My emphasis is probably going to be Health Comm. So that is a fancy way of saying I will be making Public Service Announcements for television. LOL

If you like dancing, there's actually a very good game for that: Let's Dance 2(do not get the first one). It's got a lot of varied dance routines/songs, and even two player songs. I've had a lot of fun with this one, and it can give you a nice little workout too.

Just bought Super Mario Galaxy 2 before leaving home, but I don't have enough experience to give a rapport on that yet. Bond 007 Golden Eye is also supposed to be very good, and I believe it's got a two player mode.

I actually have no clue what this friend code business is lol.

Oh oh, and if you register with Nintendo Club and input the code of your system and any nintendo games you buy, you can score some nifty free points to buy stuff with. I have several extra dance numbers cause of that ;)

The first thing I did was register with Nintendo Club. LOL I have to wait for my husband to very his email address though. (Men, I swear).

I love love to dance so I think I'm going to get Just Dance 2 (on your rec and another rec). Especially if I can use points to get extra dance numbers.

If your Wii is connected wirelessly, you can swap friend codes (under message board, address book) with friends and then you can all play some online games like Mario Kart.

Just Dance 2 comes with 40+ tracks, so you won't be in dire need to buy any new ones straight off. Some of the dance routines are fairly complicated, and are just as much fun the fifth time around. I haven't even tried out all of them yet :p I really wanted a dancing game, so I did tons of review hunting and it's the top dog out there. The cheerleading one tempted me, but alas I haven't found many nice things said about it.

Oh, didn't know Mario Kart was an online game. We can swap codes if you'd like, and you can kick my butt.

And I second the rec for wii fit. It's got some nice exercises, though it tries my patience a bit due to my preference for anything where I get to bounce around or pretend to punch and kick things ;)

I can get back to you on My Fitness Coach: Dance Workout once I've given it a go.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl and New Super Mario Brothers. They're both super fun. I am terrible at video games but I am somehow better at Smash Brothers than Joe. Go figure.
