Karen's fail attempt at fanfic: YOU ARE MY SOUL CHAPTER 01

Dec 22, 2009 11:08

Emily, my editor (ROFLMAO), said it was good, and I told Cathy I'll let her read it, so anyway.

☂ DETAILS ;
Title: You Are My Soul
Chapter: 01
Word Count: 539
Rating: I live in a G-rated bubble.
Disclaimer: Johnny Kitagawa owns Arashi, and I’ll only take credit for the really stupid plot.
Summary: Nino as a high school student. Yes, what a perfect summary.

☂ AUTHOR’S NOTES ;
I haven’t written a story in two to three years… But somehow, I felt like it. Emily, criticize and comment it, please. You’re an awesome writer, so your tips would help. Hm, what else? Oh, the character details sound pretty gay, but they’re straightforward, so I kept them like that. I only wrote details for Nino and the fictional girl, by the way. And I couldn’t think of a title, and I had ♪A.RA.SHI stuck in my head, so…

☂ MAIN CHARACTERS ;
> Yoshida Mai - 17. The youngest in the grade, yet the smartest. Beautiful, though no one can tell with the way she dresses. Doesn't have any friends in school.
> Ninomiya Kazunari - 18. Can achieve A's when he wants to, but he doesn't bother. The most popular guy in school; he makes hearts fall for him, and at the same time, break because of him. Though he plays with girls, he's never loved before.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

☂ CHAPTER ONE ;

Ninomiya Kazunari looked at the test paper in front of him. He wasn't surprised.

"9%, Ninomiya-san," the teacher declared in front of everyone. "That's a rise of 3%. I'm very impressed." Everyone sensed his sarcasm, but didn't dare laugh. The last one got beaten up by Nino.

Nino smirked. "Aren't you proud of me sir," he replied smoothly. "I study, that's why."

Ignoring Nino's remark, the teacher started teaching. Nino doodled on the paper in front of him, counting down the minutes. When is lunchbreak coming?! He looked to his right, bored, and saw the school's maths prodigy, Yoshida Mai, taking notes.

He can see the grin on her face. What a weirdo. No wonder she has no friends. He nudged her. She looked to his left, and blushed. No one, except for the teachers, have probably talked to her for a long time. 'I bet she stays in the library during lunchbreaks,' Nino thought.

"Yes?" Her voice squeaked. Nino almost laughed out loud, but didn't want another detention. "Why the hell are you taking notes? You probably know all this crap already."

She blushed, her cheeks turning into a crimson red. She looked down to hide her face, and nudged her thick-rimmed glasses up her nose. "I like taking notes..." she said. She glanced up at the board, and once she started writing, she started smiling.

Nino shook his head. 'Nerds,' he thought. 'I'll never understand them.'

The bell rang after what seemed like forever to Nino, but only five minutes for Mai. Nino quickly grabbed his stuff, not wanting to miss a game of baseball with his friend, Aiba Masaki. Mai's pace was just as fast. New books were coming in today, so she couldn't wait to get to the library.

"Class dismissed. Ninomiya-san and Yoshida-san, please stay behind."

WHAT?

Nino groaned loudly. Sakurai Sho laughed. Nino raised his fist in the air, threatening him. Sho just laughed again, walking away, knowing Nino would never punch him.

Nino and Mai rushed to the front of the classroom, hoping to get whatever it was done as soon as possible.

"Give me your test paper, Ninomiya-san," the teacher ordered. "You can even keep it," Nino said, handing it over. "Can I have yours too, Yoshida-san?" the teacher kindly asked. Mai gave it to him, itching to get to the library.

The teacher spread the test papers out on his desk.

Ninomiya Kazunari: 9%
Yoshida Mai: 109%

Nino looked at his teacher with a so-what? face. The teacher stared straight back.

"This is a very big difference," he stated matter-of-factly.

"I don't really care," Nino replied. "How the hell can you get more than 100% anyway?! Is that even possible?"

"There was a sheet with bonus questions," the teacher said. "It was the one you turned into an airplane five minutes into the test," Mai softly said beside him.

Ah... Well, anyway.

"Can I go now?" Nino said, grabbing his test. He planned to make more airplanes on the way to the baseball field. Mai grabbed hers as well, worrying that the new books may have been borrowed already.

Before they stepped out of the classroom door, a word the teacher suddenly said held them back.

"Tutor," he said.

WHAT?

☂ EMILY'S COMMENTS ;
YOU SUCK KAREN LEAVE THE WRITING TO ME
She said the characters were cliche, which I agree, they are. And Nino sounds like a douche but in the picture, he looks like he wants to adopt a puppy and pat it. Well, I really like that picture, okay. And yeah, it might take a while for him to like her since she's such a loser, so I guess that's the challenge? And I'm not gonna give her an attitude, she's gonna stay as a goody-two-shoes. XD If I don't swear in real life, wouldn't it be retarded swearing in my stories? Oh, and yes, I liked the airplane line too.
