You know, the funny thing about hipsters is that I never meet people that identify themselves as such. Is it purely a derogatory term? I mean, I meet people that I would classify as hipsters. They love their dirty, ironic hats. They drink PBR. They like indie rock. But then they complain about all the hipsters at this bar or bookstore or

That's exactly the joke. "What did the hipster say when he went into the bar? 'I can't be here, there are too many hipsters.'"

I've heard one person, ever, say that they were a hipster, in the same voice one would use to say they were clumsy or sucked at math.

As I am in art school and know way way way too many folks that fit this description...I think it is derogatory now.I have heard people who could be described as hipsters, call other people hipsters, kind of like how we would call someone a poser.
