Clytie, by Frederic Lord Leighton. - And a poetic musing

Thirsting

And the world as it seems

Is not what I hope it would be

But a vague imitation of trying

And people on the whole

Spout from parched lips

Wisdom they do not know

And I wonder if it’s better off dying

i loved it, short but sweet.
I loved the lines
"
And people on the whole

"
