Remember: the swine flu isn't a _real_ problem until Madagascar closes its ports. That's when we know that we have a true pandemic on our hands.

The WHO raised the Pandemic Threat Level to 5. I am actually getting a tad nervous...

That would seem slightly more threatening if I knew what that was on a scale of. 1-10? 1-100? 1-6?

Also, I wonder what level Avian Flu and SARS were at. Because, those ended up being such a huuuuge deal.

So after checking:

Scale of 1-6. So, that's bad.

Level 5 means "Human-to-human transmission into two WHO states." So... um... yeah, we kinda knew that days ago. Less scary.

Actually, what makes me nervous is that if this becomes truly widespread there may come a point where U.S. medical supplies simply can't keep up and then we will have some real problems.

Anyway, as I said, tad nervous, which doesn't mean FREAKING OUT!!!

I think I've been watching too many zombie movies lately because I keep expecting the dead to start raising hell (and pictures scenes of it) instead of people just dying and staying that way.

Real life is boring

You're imagining zombie hordes because you've been tending bar during busy weekends. I imagine the outstretched hands clutching for drinks look eerily similar to hungry flesh-eaters reaching for brains.
