It wasn't often that Jack had to steal things from the shop anymore, but somehow he found himself sneaking in today, in search of a new wrench. He was fairly sure one of the new walls had eaten his old one, and he needed a replacement until it could be retrieved.

It was as he slipped in that he say that guy standing by a big... thing.

"What the heck is that?" he asked out loud, then clamped a hand over his mouth; he was supposed to be being sneaky!

With a start the boy turned his head about to see a rather pale acquaintance standing before him. Would it have been a less charitable mood, his first instincts were to simply grumble upon seeing him (certainly through the tone of his voice also did no favors), but instead he answered. The look upon his face showing his annoyance with Jack's tone.

"It's a solar surfer. I just finished it not too long ago."

"A solar surfer?"

It was said with a good deal of incredulousness, but some curiosity as well. Jack moved closer to the machine, eyebrow raised.

"What does it do?"

Jim's eyes narrowed for a moment at the sound of his skepticism, but anyone who knew Jack would have mentioned to expect such talk from him. Nevertheless, he gave him some room to take a look (possibly against his better judgment, but who could be certain at that point?)and silently hoped that nothing on the surfer would suffer for it.

"Well if I made this properly enough, it should be able to fly. I just gotta test it," he said as he leaned back against a nearby work bench and placed his hands in his pockets.
