For a second, he thought about pretending that the room was empty, but something compelled him to set the game down and get up, shuffling across the floor. It didn't even occur to him that his t-shirt and boxers were probably not the best attire for him to answer the door in.
"Yeah, wha'd'ya want?" he demanded, yanking the door open, but then he saw the bag on the ground and his mentor almost to the corner.
"...what's... pudding?"

Ryoga had fallen asleep after finally finding his dorm room. The jet lag caused him to sleep a lot later than he intended, and now everybody had gone to classes. By the time he found his way to the classrooms, he'd probably be too late anyway, so he had resigned himself to just sitting in his room, doing nothing.
Then he was sure he heard a sound from next door. Anything was better than staring at the ceiling above his bed, so he decided to see if someone else was still in the dormitory.
He intended to tap lightly on the entry of B07, but the door wound up rattling on its hinges. The noise contrasted sharply with his quiet question, "Hello? Is anybody home?"

He didn't even put down his video game, instead yelling, "No. Go away!"
There, now maybe his mysterious visitor would get the hint and leave him be.

He supposed he shouldn't take it personally; maybe they weren't in class because they were ill or something. Still, he was rather passive-aggressively pleased that one of the door numbers had been knocked askew during the knocking.
Guess it was back to staring at the ceiling...

Like listen to really loud and obnoxious heavy metal music.
So loud it could probably be heard down the hall, and definitely in the next room.
