X-gene talkings and sharing historycodebook January 9 2011, 04:55:56 UTC
[Roll has been called by one or both of the staff members. Time to do a little talking because Charles Xavier says so.]

[What's your mutation? What are some benefits? What are some drawbacks? What's an experience you've had with your mutation?]

[These questions are visible somehow in the room, so the students (and staff) have prompts.]

[Nervous laugh and smile. Yep, this is as much as he can keep the subject going because he really doesn't know what he's doing.]

That's great advice. Thanks for sharing.

...

Er, there's still plenty of donuts left if anyone wants seconds!

[How'd he get in this situation again? Oh yes, he found himself with a homeroom group.]

[Er, well. Guess he's up now, huh?]

Mine's more or less the usual -- stuff like super strength and speed, and then I also have empathic powers.

So kinda the stuff you'd expect to see comic book superheroes to have? Sorry if it doesn't sound all that interesting... it's still really cool, though.

I have some technopathy that allows me to interact with digital and electronic technology. I also have this book that allows me to create flying screens that act like touch pad computers.

[Demonstration! Reki opens up his history book and creates a holo-screen. He touches it and types, so it says "Hello ('-')/"]

And technopaths and hackers don't seem able to interact with it. [Yay remnants of reality warping, not that he knows]

... A downside to my mutation is that I ended up looking like my game avatar...

[Puffs out chest] I bear witness to the spirit and willpower of others, and can amplify one's confidence to new levels.

[Deflates fractionally] I joined a team specializing in such abilities in Japan, but my family decided it was for the best I learn in a more official environment.

That's what happened? [Consider Reki surprised] All that was from boosting confidence?

[He doesn't know if he's more surprised that there was nothing more to things or that confidence alone could make such a big difference]

[Lifts his chin, all proud now] Certainly. When a person is convinced that they can succeed, and is not willing to give up, anything is possible. The most insurmountable tasks can be overcome, when doubts are pushed aside. Belief in oneself is the greatest ability anyone can have!

Geez, is there a handbook for this kind of thing?

Er... that's quite the motivational speech...

[Not what he was expecting this early in the morning but okay...]

Hmm. It's important to try and rally the spirit through methods beyond relying on my ability.

Ah... right. I'm sure the library has some resources on past motivational speeches.

... That's not what you meant, was it? [scratches his head and sighs] There needs to be at least a training seminar if they're going to doing this...

[Reki thinks Hajime keeps quoting some book, so... IDK =|;;]

Not... precisely. I just try saying what feels right to say. [Though now the buzz is sort of killed and he feels mostly awkward.]

[muttered Japanese curse] ... On second thought, I should be the one looking up books in the library...

[He does not know what he's doing with the mentoring now homeroom thing...]
