Sophie is probably going to tag too? :D orangescntdhero August 29 2010, 04:27:28 UTC
With all the craziness that had been going on at the school recently, the twins had wanted to get away for a while. Salem didn't seem like quite far enough, and it had been a while since they'd gone into the city together. So they took a trip for a day.

Of course, avoiding craziness seemed to be too much to ask for. Josh jumped as the first car exploded in the parking garage just a few hundred yards from them. He turned to see where the blast had come from, and it surprised him even more than the explosion itself. Axel could cover himself up with all the spandex he wanted. That hair was still unmistakable. Josh wondered briefly if this was a something he was doing for the brotherhood, but it didn't seen right. Random destruction had never really been Magneto's style. At least, not intentional random destruction ( ... )

Sophie wasn't the only one who jumped, letting out a small scream when a car suddenly just exploded nearby them. "What was that?!" She whipped her head around, trying to see the cause of it.

Then she saw the guy standing up at the top of the building. "... What in the world is that guy wearing?" Shaking her head a little, she reached out to grab Josh's arm. What was he texting for?! Some crazy guy was throwing fireballs right by then and instead of running away, he was texting someone? "Josh, now is really not the time!" she said as she attempted to haul her twin away.

Figures. Become a mutant, have powers that give you huge headaches. Go to school to learn to control powers and hopefully get rid of headaches. Weird stuff happens at school, go back to the city. Weird stuff happens in the city. Sophie was really starting to doubt that things would ever stop being weird.

No, Axel didn't have his cell phone on him since the suit didn't exactly come with pockets, but from the height he was at he could see the pair. He recognised one off them instantly, but the other girl he'd not seen before, and he couldn't really get a good view of her face with all that tugging she was doing. Maybe it was Josh's date.

Axel fired one more fireball, before he jumped down off of the roof onto a dumpster, and then before Josh looked up from his phone, Axel was in front of them both.

"Aura," he said briefly, raising an eyebrow at the girl.

When Sophie tugged Josh just tugged back, trying to hold his ground. He needed to talk to Axel. "No wait, I just--"

And then Axel was right in front of him. Well, the phone plan was a bust, but at least he'd managed to get his attention anyway. Now he just had to figure out what to do with it. He cast a sidelong glance at Sophie. She wasn't going to like this; he hadn't mentioned Axel to her at all yet, and this was hardly the best way for her to find out about it.

Josh quirked an eyebrow as Axel addressed him, "Codenames, really?" He held up his phone to display the text he'd never even gotten a chance to send, and repeated himself, "What are you doing?"

Justice Squad? dontholdthedoor August 29 2010, 04:31:09 UTC
Karrin had been doing a lot since joining the Justice Squad. Setting up ways to listen in on police scanners and just sneaking out of school to do random patrols. She was part of the team, but at the same time didn't ask for their help very often, preferring to work alone in the long run. That being said, when she heard about a mutant blowing up cars in New York City she'd grabbed her rather plain costume (a red hoody, black pants, gloves, a black ball cap and black shades) and a few weapons before heading out ( ... )

Because of the nature of what he was doing, Axel's guard was up. Way up. He was in New York City for crying out loud--sure not the middle of downtown Manhattan--but it wasn't like there weren't superheroes wandering around ready to beat stray 'bad' mutants up. Still, he was expecting someone in a cape and spandex, not a kid in a hood and a baseball hat.

He paused briefly in his fireball onslaught before she started to spray, and managed to move away just in time to only get a little of the power on his leg. He turned to face her, raising an eyebrow at her getup and then lit two fireballs in both hands and aimed to kick the extinguisher out of her grip.

"Can't a guy relax in peace?"

Well, well, look who'd shown himself in the most flashy of ways. Larxene had been wandering for the most part, preferring the civilization of the cities here to the rubble of Genosha, but making a bit of rubble was always fun.

To those who were unaware of her abilities, it would seem like she'd teleported to where Axel was on the roof, but really it was just a burst of quick movement. She didn't bother sneaking up on the man--it was rarely worth it with Axel, and she didn't feel like a fight with him. Yet.

"Enjoying yourself?"

Axel didn't turn when he heard her voice, nor did he jump particularly. He had half been expecting it, what with her shadowing him lately. He took another aim and clipped the side of a car enough to send the car alarm off, and then smirked.

"Just the bitch I wanted to see."

Larxene's smile curled into something a touch more dangerous. "In a mood today, are we?" She folded her arms. "Any reason, or did you just miss me that much?"

Axel watched some of the burning wrecks briefly, before stretching upward and turned in his seat to look up at her, a similar smirk mirrored in his face. "Hardly," he scoffed, before standing up, wiping the dirt of the roof off his suit.

"I've got a proposition for you."

A black stretch Hummvee, highly polished to the point of perfection, prowled along the streets of NYC before coming to a gentle stop a few blocks away from the carnage Axel was wrecking on the streets below. Joule opened the door and - with a charismatic parting smile at the remaining occupant - stepped out into the street. Dressed in her red, black and white finery she was no less-well groomed than the car; with her injuries repaired and a fresh layer of latex and paint it was as if the brawl with Pepper had never happened ( ... )

Axel only looked up from his work when he heard the shout from behind him. The roaring of the fire and the last breaths of the dying car alarms drowning out his perception--and since she wasn't actually entirely roof he hadn't had a chance to notice her.

Throwing her a smirk, Axel closed one eye and aimed at one final car which exploded with a huge smoky mushroom cloud and then whipped his hands down on his jacket. He then crossed the distance, and offered her a hand up onto the roof with a smirk.

"Hot stuff, yourself."
