Hey gorgeous. You know I can't say no to you. [looks around at the drums and the... are those exploding flowers?] Is this what protests usually look like?

I promise not to take advantage of that... Unless you want me to. [She looks around and laughs] Well... Not always. I got a little out of hand with this one.

So far he was not particularly impressed. He'd heard that there were staff members at the Institute who'd been arrested for violent political protest in the past; he'd been hoping for at least some angry shouting, but this was disappointing and didn't seem very practical or useful. Perhaps it was working up to something more worthwhile, but until that happened Colin was going to be standing to one side with his arms folded, watching in a slightly puzzled, disapproving sort of way. He did not feel optimistic.

He noticed Colin sulking and although he didn't know him he recognized him as someone from the institute. So he approached. "You do not look pleased to be here."

"Well, I'm just not so sure this is the right way to make people sit up and pay attention," he said, watching Maureen with a frown. "This kind of thing is totally inaccessible to the common man - sure, it might mean something to people who already want to hear this stuff, but the people who need to hear it aren't going to listen to this."

Courfeyrac felt that it was a very good bit of satire, considering that English wasn't his first language. As he took a flourishing bow to waves of laughter and applause, he certainly felt quite satisfied with himself. He hopped offstage with the satisfaction of a job more than well done.

"Courfeyrac!" he exclaimed, a wide grin on his face. As he got closer he looked a little coy. "That was good, but I probably would have liked it better if it was Sir Liberty."

He laughed. "Sorry Maxxie, but when my country gives yours an enormous bronze statue of a woman holding up a torch and calls it the statue of liberty, one's hands are tied as to gender. Still, I am pleased that you could appreciate such a work of astonishing literary merit!"

[weaves his way across to Reg and plants a friendly, firm hand on his shoulder] Reg, glad you could make it today. How was your business trip?

She glances back at him and tries not to laugh. There was no one he could punch right now to make things better...
