[Reki's chilling in a chair. Things seem to be going well.]

[His book's open as he shuffles through a few holo-screens, surfing the internet to get more familiar to the area he just moved to. Restaurants, theaters, stores, maps, etc....]

Hajime was still worried about the school. It was impossible not to be stressed on the matter, and he'd been at his rope's end before Sanji had convinced him over here. But every time he began to think too much about it, a small buzzing in the back of his mind reminded him to keep faith; he was there for the students who had gotten away. They needed someone to be strong right now, and he had to at least try.

Though, it was possible being tense and strong-willed at a party would be rather contradictory to the intended effect. That would be a little bit hard to balance out. For now, he just took a slice of cheese pizza and hoped that he could help as best possible.

Gonzo really hadn't minded the strange goings-on at the school; in fact he'd found it all rather exciting, and when the walls in his room started to breath that was just about the most awesome thing he'd ever seen! Having failed to get them to agree to work on an act with him, however (perhaps he should have written up a proper contract, people were always impressed if you offered them a contract right?), he had started to tire of things.

So, when he'd heard the offer of pizza and a party in a hotel, he'd taken up the offer like a shot.

Walking about with a slice of Hawaiian as big as his face, he hopped up onto a footrest next to a guy with glasses and a cool looking ribbon around his head.

"Pretty swell, party huh?"

"Mm, it's very..."

Hajime actually turned to look at who was addressing him, and managed to lose track entirely of what he'd been planning to say. This... this person was... he was something. He was definitely something. Wow.

It's rude to stare it's rude to stare it's rude to stare

"I, uh--yes. It's. Nice. Very lively. I'm glad... you're enjoying it?"

Gonzo was entirely used to people staring, in fact he quite enjoyed it; it was just one of those things that you had to get used to, being a celebrity.

"Oh yeah, music's great, pizza's great, can hear my own feet again..." He wiggled his spat-clad feet cheerfully, he hadn't realized how much he'd missed that.

"Are you? Oh, wait, I'm meant to introduce myself aren't I..." He held out a blue and furry hand that looked nothing like a hand but did at the same time. "Gonzo the Great! Well, that's my stage name, as you probably know- you can just call me Gonzo."

J wake the beep up. There's pizza. =| mutedbackbeat August 17 2010, 20:39:40 UTC
Derrick had spent several hours in bed listening to music until his energy had really started to return and the overall terror that the Music had been trying to kill him had retreated to the back of his mind. He finally let himself fall into a decent sleep. When he woke, the medical staff member that had tagged along for Derrick's health was amazed that he seemed well enough to come off the IV and even push himself around in a wheelchair. He could finally stop being bedridden completely ( ... )

Dang it Derrick let me sleep- wait what pizza musicalmesmer August 17 2010, 21:00:58 UTC
Derrick had been right about a few things: J hadn't been sleeping well ever since Derrick had wound up in the infirmary, and recent events certainly hadn't been helping things. After they'd arrived at the hotel, the first thing he'd done was make sure Derrick and everyone who had come with them were alright. The second was to track down Starr and Foxx and make sure they were holding up alright. The greater part of his worries abated, the last thing he did was flop onto his bed and simply collapse into unconsciousness, not even stopping to enjoy the Music. Goodness knew he needed the rest.

He had no idea how long he'd been asleep. All he knew was that he was waking up to the smell of what was unmistakably pizza, coupled with insistent reminders from his stomach that, while sleeping was nice and all, he really needed to eat too. He blinked a few times, the pizza slice above his face and the person holding it slowly coming into focus. "You better plan on sharin' that."

Yes pizza. Wake up. =| mutedbackbeat August 17 2010, 21:19:50 UTC
"Pizza party," Derrick said as he pulled the slice away from his face and took a bite. He wasn't going to share this slice.

Then he put the piece on the plate on his lap, wheeled himself near the door, and went back to munching on his pepperoni. Derrick also expected J to push his wheelchair back to the party.

Well why didn't you tell me that sooner :| musicalmesmer August 18 2010, 05:10:28 UTC
He sat up slowly, rubbing his forehead, trying to wake up enough to process what Derrick was saying and the expectancy in his roommate's tune. "You're kiddin'," he managed. "I gotta work for it?"

He blinked a few times, considered his options, and flopped back over on the bed, face down. Sleep first.

Awkward out of place wannabe villain is awkward and out of place. jackbotsattack August 18 2010, 04:11:44 UTC
Jack was leaning against the wall just a little ways down from the door, inhaling the scent of warm, delicious pizza and twidling his thumbs. He knew he had been invited to the hotel, but he was wondering if this part counted, too. After all, he wasn't exactly part of the group.

Not that he wanted to be a part of the group, mind you. He just wanted pizza. That was all.

He'd been wondering why he even came here at all, but with all the madness in the school, he was glad he had. He didn't want to be caught in whatever mess that was going on. And he didn't want to be around those breathing walls anymore; it'd been freaking him out.

But all of that didn't make standing in the hallway, twiddling his thumbs, any less awkward.

What was he supposed to do, though? Go in and announce, "Hi, I'm Jack Spicer, Evil Boy Genius, I will one day rule you all but for now will you let me eat pizza with you?" That was just stupid. This whole situation was stupid. Why did he even care ( ... )

So far as J was concerned, nobody at a pizza party really had any right to be in a bad mood. Pizza should really cancel that out, especially when it was pizza with friends and in a place where the Music played straight and the walls didn't try to breathe on you.

That was why the unhappy tune caught his attention - amongst the satisfied and relieved Music, it stuck out something awful. He vaguely recognized it; he'd heard it around the Institute before but couldn't put a face to it. Of course, there was only one solution to this.

About a minute later, he headed out into the hall, following the tune to a kid doing his best Manson impersonation. "Hey, there's more'n enough to go 'round," he greeted the kid with a smile and a plate of pizza. "Wanna come inside?"

Not expecting anyone to talk to him, Jack was startled when someone suddenly snuck up on him (or did as far as he was concerned) and invited him in. He gave a short yelp of surprise before realizing that it was just one of the kids from the room. And he had pizza.

"Uh," he began, just staring for a moment. "I..."

He shook his head slightly and turned his astonished stare into a cocky smirk. "Well, I was about to just steal your pizza anyway, but if you're offering..."

J both saw and heard that awkward save coming and just raised an eyebrow. If the kid wanted to try to save his ego or whatever, J wasn't going to say anything. He was trying to include the kid, not call him on anything. Instead, he shrugged and held out the plate. "Got the pizza for you, man."

After waking up his roommate and having him push him back to the party, Derrick spent a lot of his time at the party listening to his MP3 player and eating pizza, focusing mostly on those two things. Could anyone blame him? He had spent days with low energy and even started rapidly losing it to the warped Music... And he also spent days on an IV. Good music and food were things he had been lacking. (Save Sanji sneaking him food.)

... And if his mind started to wander, Derrick would think back to things he didn't want to recall. That doubt and fear needed to stay away in a party full of music empaths. Derrick wanted to push it all away because he didn't want to bring the party down. It... it happened. And it would be over. He hoped.

Derrick had wheeled his wheelchair to end of the table nearest to the door, intending to listen, eat, and not think about bad things.

"Well you're looking better," Karrin said upon entering the conference room. She hadn't seen Derrick since dropping that card by, and even then he'd been asleep. Shortly after that Karrin had fallen pray to her danger sense screaming at her and hadn't felt much like getting out of bed.

It felt good to be able to actually hear herself think. She moved past Derrick and grabbed a slice of pizza before turning back to him, "The wheels are new though." She leaned against the table and blew on her hot slice, oh this was going to taste so good. "How're you holding up?" she asked before taking a bite.

"You seem good too." Derrick knew that Karrin's danger sense had been going off just as much as--He looked down and picked at a bubble on a piece of crust. "Wheelchair's because energy's returning. Uh, doing better than before." Physically at least.

"Nice hotel." He liked that it had some distance between them and the school.

Karrin swallowed her bite before answering. "Yeah, I'm doing a lot better. Amazing what a little R&R can do," Karrin replied. She could tell from the way that Derrick was picking at his pizza that he probably didn't want to linger on this topic much.

So, she decided to help change it by trying to jump on the next topic of the hotel. "Yeah. They even have a hot tub and indoor pool. A girl from school dragged me down there yesterday and I have to admit it was a pretty good idea. I'm kinda glad other people from school showed up though because it would have been a little boring staying in a hotel by myself."
