Leon had been awoken by a premonition of someone skulking onto the campus. It took him a moment to get his boots on, and his armory strapped on, but after that point, the chase was on. He hoped he got to him before that new guy all the kids were freaked out about. He was making him look bad.

It was with this thought in mind that he went for a stylish move. He reached down from the air vent he had so stealthily crawled into, and snatched that mask right off his face.

"I hope you're a student. Because the amount of paperwork for a security breach is a pain in the ass."

Zidane hopped back with a little surprise at the sudden demasking. However, he quickly shrugged it off, "Of course I'm a student, I'm... um... Fletchen..." He was close, okay? It was a while since he saw the little kid. He also seriously doubted this trick would work but that wasn't the point either. "Look, lemme just have my precious family heirloom back and let me be on my way. I was just here checking in on a friend."

Okay, so at least the last thing he said was honest. He didn't totally lie to the guy. "So, what do you say, it's a lot easier than the other option?"

Leon dropped out of the vent with a bit of a hop. He looked at the mask in an evaluative sort of way. "Kinda dated, I think. Isn't Guy Forks the cool mask now? Or maybe Baelheit? On second thought, I think we have orders to shoot Baelheit on sight."

He lowered the hand holding the mask to his side. He clearly had no intention of giving it back. "Don't know any students by the name of Fletchen. Why don't we take a walk to my office?"

"I said it was an heirloom," That was a boldface lie but it still worked, "Look, I really don't mean any harm, I'm not robbing the place, and I really just wanted to check on a friend and get outta here. So if I could have back my mask and be on my way, that'd be fine and you can just forget any paperwork."

Zidane made what looked like a slide under the hand with his mask making a grab for it as he slid past. Hoping to get behind the guy, or at least keep his eyes moving. Of course, as he slid he untied Leon's boot. He was also sliding at a lot of speed with very little obvious source for momentum. When Zidane had stopped sliding he moved to a crouch, "Look, I'm not your enemy and... okay getting my mask was interesting, so what's the harm in letting me go?

Vidia didn't usually have trouble getting to sleep, but for some reason, it was proving to be a bear tonight. Frowning, Vidia silently got up from her bed, stretching her limbs. She'd just walk up and down a hall a bit; maybe that would tire her out enough to sleep. Slipping on a pair of slippers, Vidia quietly opened the door and looked out into the hallway, first left, then right-

... Was someone in the hallway? Vidia's brow furrowed as she tried to see.

Zidane made his way around a corner and moved to the ceiling, clinging by his tail hoping whoever it was would go away. Of course, if it was Hinata she'd spot him. If it wasn't... please go away... or be cute. One or the other.

This is why he liked houses with a lot less people in them.

And more movement. Now Vidia was curious. Closing the door behind her, she silently moved down the hallway, arms crossing over her chest. She found a corner and turned, looking around for what she had seen. Maybe she had read too much into it; maybe someone's secret pet had gotten loose or something.

Zidane should let her leave, let her move along and he can go and look for Hinata. He definitely had no business doing anything other than that. She was just a girl... okay! She was a cute girl, she was very nice to look at, but it'd be very stupid to do anything but let her leave.

...

So naturally Zidane hopped down from the ceiling behind her, without a single noise as he fell, not even that of his boots landing on the ground. "Hope I didn't startle you," he still had his mask on, he was acting beyond casual. As if this was the most normal thing in the world.

It takes one skulker in the night to find another one sometimes. It was clear that he was coming back from the girls dorm as he was still moving through the halls leading from/to that part of the school. He was pretty used to the trip by now and was used to being the only person out and about so imagine his surprise at hearing someone else out and about.

Unsure if it was a teacher or not he was soon invisible and sneaking closer to investigate just what was going on. Sure his ability didn't silence his movements but being a rather accomplished thief made it pretty damn easy to be quiet. Not that it was always enough if you were going up against another accomplished thief mind you, but he didn't know that now did he?

Zidane stopped moving, taking a moment to listen. Thankfully Zidane's footsteps were already light due to his powers, so he heard the other person earlier. "I can't see you so I'll just assume you're armed unless you reveal yourself." He sounded so serious and real till he started chuckling, "Look, I don't like hurting people but I really can't take the chance, okay?"

He turned to face the invisible person behind him, "Girlfriend visit in the dead of night?" He rather hoped it was that, otherwise he was security and that would be a serious dampener on his day. Or it could be a girl in the dorm checking on a peeping tom... which also can't go well. He'd just hope he was right, it was usually better that way.

"You've got some killer ears, pal." Duo was grinning as he let his conscious grip on his mutation fade bringing himself back into view. "You always make a habit of threatening people though? If so you've gotta be the life of the party." He remained as nonthreatening as possible even while noting any detail about the other that stood out, which wasn't much considering.

"You got it right though. Her roommate transferred out and she's got the place to herself right now so... can you blame me?"
