[Hearing something by the classrooms, Tallahassee made his way over from the kitchen with a flashlight. Midnight raids always proved to be fruitful, as the few twinkies he'd snatched showed.

Shining the flashlight on the steps, he saw a girl who must obviously be a student.]

Oi, kid. Shouldn't you be in bed?

[Looks up from her solitude and gives him a sad smile.] Probably, but I can't sleep.

You'd be in trouble if you got caught. Can't you not sleep in your room?

[Giving her detention for this would be more work than it was worth.]

No. My roommate is there and I don't want to wake her up. I've already done that a few times with the nightmares. [The saddest look ever.]

[Levitas is not sleeping as easily tonight as he usually does, and he is en route to the kitchen, hoping that maybe a snack will help him sleep better. Dragon logic.

His quest takes him by the classrooms and then a set of stairs, where - surprisingly enough - someone is sitting. Levitas pauses, figures his snack can wait, and quietly goes to sit next to the girl]

It is a lovely night.

Reminds me of home. [She said, staring out at the night, not looking over.] Only less cold and no snow and less cold. But I like snow, the geometrical dimensions of it remind me of fractal geometry and how if you break it's shape, it just refracts into smaller pieces of the same shape. Like salt. It's called self-similarity. [Babbly, babbly.]

[Looks over.] Oh, you're a dragon. [Awkward smile.]

[He listens to her, finding it fascinating even though he was less than prepared for it. He looks back at her]

And you are a mathematician. [Nod nod]

If you do not mind my asking, where is your home?

I know people... feigenbaumblue July 16 2010, 16:13:38 UTC
[Is the most honored.] Oh, I wouldn't think that. I only said that because you're the second dragon I met. Most people don't ever even meet one dragon. I'm Fred. [Offers hand. Wait, can dragons shake hands?]

Oh, I grew up in Texas.
