SEE HERE FOR MORE ON THIS IF YOU MISSED IT So here is how it is hanging:
The Genoshan slaves are all kept in line by power inhibitor collars. These are all remotely controlled, so that slaves can be punished by someone pressing a button or pulling a lever that causes them IMMENSE PAIN etc. All of them are linked to a central computer hub, which is astonishingly well defended. It is not well-defended enough that a technopath with Lain's skills can't hack into it given enough time and the right kind of access. In an ideal world you guys would be going to the central computer hub, but that's seriously hard to get to, nobody's quite sure where it is, and, let's be honest, the Brotherhood simply does not have enough people to take it.
On the bright side, though, the signal is kept even throughout the island by less well-defended control masts, which all link directly to the hub, and from which Lain will find it relatively easy to access the controls.
The Brotherhood's submarine has docked secretly and quietly in a little-used cove a few miles from Hammer Bay. Having snuck out of there IN THE DARK, your mission is to get Lain to the nearest control mast so that she can hack into the inhibitor network and free the slaves.
It's about 2:30 AM, and you've been TREKKING ACROSS COUNTRY for a little while. It's kind of jungly, and by "kind of jungly" I mean it is a jungle and you are in a jungle. The jungle is pretty thick and canopied so even if you're headed in the right direction the control mast might not be immediately obvious until you are right on top of it and getting attacked by guards. If any of you feel up to scaling trees, that might be handy. (Other things you may get attacked by include implausibly large snakes, lemurs, and PACKS OF FOSSAS shut up who cares that they're solitary Genoshan fossas hunt in packs because I said so.)
NPC account will step in now and then to clarify what's going on and have stuff attack you. GOD SPEED.
