Enjolras had been quietly browsing his bookshelf searching for a half-remembered quote and generally being engrossed in his own business when Courfeyrac had burst in and promptly wrapped himself around him.

"Oh! Hello to you too," he said with a smile, amused at Courfeyrac's sudden appearance and completely oblivious to Courfeyrac's intention. With one arm cradling a small stack of books Enjolras reached up with the other one to briefly touch Courfeyrac's cheek in a small gesture of familiarity. "How was your day?"

Well that wouldn't be the first or the last time Enjolras missed the point. Courfeyrac leaned into the touch before turning and kissing Enjolras's palm. "Quite typical- I'm a little shocked that they actually deported Combeferre still and addressing form letters gave me quite a lot of time to reflect on it. A moth-themed supervillan? Really? Good job America."

He shook his head and, deciding that he was going to have to be even more shameless than usual if he ever wanted to have sex again, began petting Enjolras's hair. "Your day went alright?"

"Very well, thank you," Enjolras replied easily without having to even think on the matter. He dropped his hand to Courfeyrac's shoulder. "Your video post to the network seems to have had the desired effect: both of my classes are beside themselves at the idea of going to Keepsie's to watch the inauguration next week."

He shifted the pile of books in his arm and shook his head briefly. "And I'm not too worried about Combeferre. He'll be back as soon as Immigrations realize their ridiculous mistake. I'm sure he can keep himself occupied in Paris in the meantime." He gave a wry smile. "Perhaps the real crime is that you're still addressing form letters - surely there are other jobs you could be doing there that are better suited to you?"

"Glad to hear it. I mean, the enthusiasm of the new generation. Warms the heart, it really does. Eh, We're a small operation. I don't mind doing the form letters." Courfeyrac was, once again, mystified at Enjolras's capacity for oblivious conversation in the midst of a seduction, and glanced down to realize that Enjolras had an armful of books. Well, those would have to go.

"What are you reading?" Courfeyrac relieved Enjolras of the stack of books, feigned interest in them, and then set them all down on the nearest flat surface, so that Enjolras could have an armful of Courfeyrac instead of an armful of legal textbooks. Courfeyrac was admittedly biased, but he held himself to be rather more interesting than legal books. "Hunh, interesting stuff."

Then, with another crank of Courfeyrac's mental obvious dial, he twined himself around Enjolras again and kissed him.
