Spock was actualy having a great day, and if he were human, he would probably be beaming. But seeing as Vulcans did not show emotions, he was at his desk, doing a paper.

And then Kirk showed up. Spock should have stayed in the library like he was going to. After talking to Blossom earlier, he was going to do his paper there, but decided against it. Not even for any particular reason.

"Please do not break the door." He merely said, glancing up at his roommate. "I do not feel like having Norman come up here again."

"If I break it, I'll fix it," Kirk growled from his position on the bed, trying very hard to keep his shields up and not let his frustration, anger, and angst slip out. It was giving him something of a headache though, the shields, having to actively concentrate on them. They weren't quite automatic yet. He'd need more time with Quatre....

He groaned and sat up, rubbing at his forehead as the pounding grew more pronounced. Come on. Be calm. Just cause Spock was here was no reason to get irritated. Just let him keep to his damned corner with his damned gadgets and you write your paper on responsibility and get it done with.

Yeah, yeah he could do that....

"I do not believe you possess the knowledge nor the tools to fix the door should you break it. We, and by we I mean I, would have to call Norman to come up here. He is a busy man." Spock said over his laptop, typing away at ridiculous speeds. He's not even glancing at Kirk any more. Clearly he's in a hostile and aggrivated mood.

"I lived on a farm, Spock. I can fix a fence, I can fix a door. I'd just borrow the tools from someone," he snapped. God he was tired of the guy doing that! Downplaying his intelligence, his skills.

It grated him the wrong way, made him grind his teeth and have to fight all the harder to keep his shields up and in place. But with the boiling emotions it was like trying to keep the pot on a boiling kettle - bouncing around, water spilling over the edges.
