Gretchen wasn't in any hurry to make it to the coffee shop. In fact, she took her time after class got over. The boy had never given her a name, or a number. Just a place to meet. So as far as she was concerned, he could wait.

As it was Wednesday, she was wearing a pink cardigan over a white tank top with a black skirt. Her heels clicked against the floor when she walked into the shop, a cute boy opening the door for her as she distractedly wrote a text. She flashed him a bright grin, but offered nothing else as she glanced around. If he didn't show up, she'd just have to make sure Regina helped ruin him.

No one stood her up.

Nakuru glanced up and smiled as Gretchen walked through the door. She drowned a giggle with a sip of her tea and let herself relax. Now all she had to do was wait and let Gretchen figure it out for herself. Well, that was Plan A, at least. If it took too long or if Gretchen looked like she was going to leave, Nakuru figured she'd eventually wander over and "properly" introduce herself. But for now, she'd just sit back, enjoy her drink and snack, and wait. Patience was a virtue, right?

Gretchen sensed the amusement, but couldn't pinpoint it. Especially since the coffee shop was pretty busy, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Slipping her cell phone back into her purse, she glanced around again, her gaze lingering on a familiar looking girl, before she walked up to the counter. There was no sense in wasting the chance to get a caramel machiatto.

And she'd probably luck out and just run into a different cute boy, since this one seemed to have stood her up.

Nakuru looked down into her cup and tried not to snicker as Gretchen looked her way. Okay, hiding in plain sight like this was way too much fun. But like any good game of hide and seek, you had to eventually show yourself, if only to show off just how well you managed to hide yourself.

The next time Gretchen looked her way, Nakuru made sure to make eye contact. She gave Gretchen a familiar smile and waved cheerfully. She'd have to figure it out after that.
