So far, the place had been alright for Hijikata. Classes would be starting soon, but the teenager was already more than prepared for it. After all, it was what he came here for.

Though now with the lull before the term started again, there wasn't much to do around the place - which was why the teenager was currently wandering around the grounds again, trying to commit the layout to his memory. Or as much as he could, anyway. This place was seriously huge.

In his wanderings, Ed couldn't help noticing a student he hadn't seen before. Someone new, or just someone he didn't share any classes with? Well, either way, saying hi couldn't hurt.

He waved, and called, "Hey!"

Hijikata perked up at the call, turning around towards the direction from where the shout had come from and noticing the blonde there. From where he was, he could tell that the other was... well, short. Not that noticing something like that affected the teenager in anyway - he knew very well how not to judge a book by its cover; his life had taught him that much at the very least.

Raising a hand, Hijikata waved back somewhat awkwardly back at the other, not at all used to such actions. Being sociable had never been something he was good at.

Ed moved closer -- he'd been walking in that direction anyway. He noticed that the other boy was somewhat tall, which irked him, but as long as no comments about height were brought up, he could deal with it.

"You new here?"

Ed wasn't the only student who shouldn't be wandering about. Except, instead of dorm arrest, Liz was ordered to be on dorm rest. As one of the injured (although it was a minor one) kidnappees, she was to stay in her room and heal. However, staying cooped up all day didn't slide with her. Walking aimlessly seemed more enjoyable.

Still, she kept an eye out for any teachers while she wandered, just in case. Somehow, some way, for all her alertness, a certain blond was out of her field of vision, ultimately causing the two to run into each other. "Oh crap! Sorry about that, kid. You okay?"

Just for the record, it wasn't that Edward was too short for Liz to see. It was that she was so freakishly tall.

He glared up at her a little, especially at the nickname she'd chosen to address him with. "Yeah, I'm fine. Watch where you're going."

Five-foot nine was not that freakishly tall. It could be considered normal in some countries that would go unnamed. Besides, this was a school of super-powered teenagers; what could be considered normal or freakish anyways?

Liz tried not to be too annoyed at the tone of the kid's voice. She was the one who bumped into him and should really pay attention to what's around her. "Don't worry, man. I'll do that from now on...Uh kind of random, but I think I recognize you from somewhere. Chem class, right?" She also seen him during the whole rescue mission, but like hell she was going to mention that.

Ed still bristled a bit, but he calmed down. She'd almost apologized, after all. "Yeah, with that crazy Hughes guy?" Come to think of it, she did seem familiar. "Who're you again?"

Al had opened their link back up but he still hadn't really talked to Ed a lot lately. Things still felt awkward. Al wanted to go outside, to run, and not be bothered. Ed was grounded so he would be okay in the dorms, right? Wherever he was.

Leaving his body 'sleeping' on his bed, Al pushed his soul out of his body and eventually managed to get outside. Out there, he didn't have to worry too much about running into anyone. He turned a corner... and saw his brother.

Al almost ducked back behind the wall but he reminded himself Ed couldn't see him. Al let out a sigh. He should have known better to think that Ed would stay inside. Al jogged up to Ed, following him silently. He was just about to speak through their link when he paused, getting another idea.

Ed was probably going to kill him for this. Al reached out, focusing on grasping Ed's braid and giving it a tug.

"Ack!" Ed whirled around to give whoever had just done that a piece of his mind, when he saw that... no one was there.

He frowned, eyes narrowing in suspicion. So, he was dealing with an invisible classmate, huh? "Who's there?"

Al didn't bother holding back a laugh, knowing Ed couldn't hear him. He walked around Ed again to tug his braid twice now.

"Ugh-- hey!" He spun around again, and this time grabbed his braid to keep it from being pulled again. "I said, who's there? Speak up now and maybe I won't beat your face in."
