Christmas was always a little hard on Remus. It was a general reminder that he was alone when most people were not. But this year, this year was different. Standing in front of a mirror, he straightened his bow tie. He was in a faded pair of dress pants and a button up.

Well, he didn't look bad. He took the present he'd gotten Dora along with the candied yams and shepherds pie before leaving his room.

He took a few steps and knocked on her door.

There was the knock on the door when she was putting her earrings then. Tonks glanced at the clock. Well, now must have been the time they agreed on. She finished putting in her earrings before making her way over to the door and opening it.

"Wotcher, Remus. Happy Christmas," she greeted him with a large grin.

He couldn't help but smile back. "Hello, Tonks." Remus said as he offered the pot of candied yams. "I brought these. I didn't know what else to bring though."

Remus looked her over and smiled. "You look great tonight, by the way." And then he immediately felt a bit awkward. Remus always felt he was the worst at giving compliments.

"It's alright... I have pretty much the basics here..." Dora grinned, taking the yams and setting them on an empty spot of the table. Her back had been turned when he offered the compliment, which she felt was a good thing so he couldn't see the blush on her cheeks.

Fighting it back, she turned around and smiled brightly at him. "Thank you. I think mum would have my head if she knew I wasn't wearing a dress... So there's at least one positive for not being back home..."

She bit her lip and tugged on his tie a little, unable to help herself. "You look nice too.. But you didn't have to wear that. It's just dinner, not even out in public..."
