Ciel wasn't certain why he had agreed to go shopping with Sebastian either. He must have some sort of soft spot for his guardian. Deep down. He would never admit to it, though. If asked, he would simply state that this time of year made him melancholy and Sebastian knew how to distract him; which was true.

My birthday...

He grimaced and rose from his seat as soon as he heard the light knocking on his door. Clicking open the lock, he eyed Sebastian questioningly.

His guardian was up to something. He could sense it.

"I am." he pulled his own cloak closer around him, gripping his cane a tad nervously, "Shall we?"

He glanced down at Ciel when the door opened, a small smirk flickering over his lips before an expression of (half) mock concern replaced it. "Not just yet. You only have one coat on-- you need another one. It's sunny out, but it's better not to take chances." Sebastian shooed Ciel back into the room, familiarly stepping in and making his way to Ciel's small dresser.

It would have looked more than a little odd to any outsider; a teacher coming into a student's room so often and so care-freely. But Sebastian would hardly let outside opinion deter him from caring for Ciel. He pulled out a navy blue coat from the dresser, extending it to his adopted son as he started rifling through the drawers as well. "Put this on, please. Hm, I'm certain you have a pair of mittens in here as well..."

"Tch. I don't need that many coats." Ciel scowled at the shooing, having no choice but to follow Sebastian's orders. The mutant was ridiculously big. If he wanted to, he could have picked Ciel up and re-dressed him in the way he pleased. There was no use in fighting him.

"Fine." he shrugged on the blue coat and sighed, bored, as Sebastian searched for the mittens, "It will be harder for me to carry things if I'm wearing those."

He wasn't whining per se. He was simply making a valid point.

Aah, and there were the mittens-- a nice, respectable black color. Sebastian held them up triumphantly, offering it to Ciel as well before closing the dresser drawers. Ciel had enough winter clothes, he'd determined after his perusal of the dresser, but he didn't have a good pair of pajamas. He made a note to buy a couple for him, turning to the Phantomhive boy.

"You'll be able to carry enough," he said slyly. "Now let's go."

Two mittened hands were enough to hold a dog leash.
