Roderich was on his way to the library, he needed to do some research of his own. It was all for his own personal knowledge and had nothing to do with schoolwork, so he didn't have his schoolbooks, just a laptop. He actually barely even noticed the boy is sunglasses typing away on his phone. Such things were common enough around the school after all. He would pass quite close by him, but Roderich didn't think anything of it, instead simply making his way down through the room.
Ah, here came someone now. The phone disappeared into his inside jacket pocket. "Excuse me," he began. "Could I ask you a question? It's about one of the classes we have together." It didn't matter if they truly did, it'd get his attention enough to get eye contact.
Roderich blinked, pulled out of his own thoughts for a moment, long enough to look at Lelouch and move towards him, trying to place what class they had together. "Yes?" It was only then that it occurred to him how odd it was that this student was wearing sunglasses indoors. "What can I help you with?"

He had only done this a couple times before, taking desperate measures to escape his father's personal security once he'd been disowned. He hadn't even realized he'd been doing it at the time. One gained better control of their body through using it, it's the basis of a developing child, and returning from injury. So it should apply to this as well. He met the other young man's eyes. "Tell me," he began. Yes, he could feel that. Something of himself reached toward the individual before him, "what is your mutation?"
Seeing as he had some spare time, Ludwig had decided to spend it productively and go for a run around the grounds. He noticed another student, who seemed very distracted by his phone, but only acknowledged him enough to move so he would avoid colliding with him when they passed.
He passed the student, and then got an idea to test another category that he had some questions on. He moved through the building itself, stopping momentarily at one of the vending machines to get a bottle of water. By the time he emerged on the other side, Ludwig was passing him again. "Run twice as far as you plan to, today," he told him, handing over the water bottle. He wanted to make sure this individual was actually capable of such a thing.
Math had pretty much been destroying Tara as of late, so she was taking all the free time she could get to study it out in the common room. Maybe she'd remember things better if she weren't constantly listening to music, though. This Jerry Lee Lewis guy wasn't so bad after all. Could probably use a little more guitar. Anyway, she was taking a break from looking at her notes and leaning back in her chair, listening to "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" for the fifth or sixth time on repeat through her headphones.
He moved inside, now, expecting there to be more students about inside since it was a break from classes. He entered the room, finding a few students studying quietly. Plus another, that seemed to have given up for the moment. He had to get her attention from the headphones some kind of way, so he intentionally caught his ankle on the leg of the table she had been using, and did his best stage tumble, letting his phone spin and slide across the floor in front of him, and shaking off his sunglasses. Was there a difference in the reaction with them on, and off? Since she, and the others in the room, weren't paying attention in the first place, it didn't have to be all that compelling.
Yeah, that was enough to get her attention. Tara shot up from her seat, pulled her headphones off, and got to her feet to try to help whoever this guy was back up. "Are you okay?" she asked, even though she already had a feeling that he wasn't. From what she saw (which wasn't much), it looked like a pretty nasty fall.
He smiled smoothly up at her. "No, I'm alright. I was writing a text message, and I wasn't paying attention," he replied, reaching forward to collect the "offending" item. He looked it over, seeming to inspect it for damage, still seated on the floor.
"But could you do something for me?" he added quietly, certain that he, at least for the moment, had the attention of others in the room. And he felt the reach. He picked up his sunglasses without looking at them, not breaking eye contact. "Carve a different letter of the alphabet, in order, into the east wall of the girl's dormitory after you wake up each morning." That would make tracking its duration incredibly simple, while making a pattern to leave others to wonder.
Elaine was sitting beneath a tree, a book in hand and a bottle of water laying on its side next to her, forgotten. She was trying to get back into a regular schedule after that nasty secret Gossip Girl had dropped about her and Harry. It wasn't even really the fact that now the whole school knew that they dated - it was the thought that someone could possibly find out about their past with Justin.
There were a lot of ex-criminals at this school, but Elaine didn't want to be reminded of it. Not when Justin had done all those things to her mind.
So she had found a quiet place to read a book for one of her classes, not even bothering wrapping an illusion of invisibility around her.
Ah, here was a familiar face. He never did have the chance to thank her for her compassion and understanding of Nunnally's predicament. Such a selfish woman. Well, he supposed he could get a bit of what she owed him in the form of helping him learn a few things. She may have stumbled upon some kind of clue as to where Nunnally was headed without realizing it. "Excuse me, Elaine," he began, to get her attention. He put an easy smile on his face, as though to set the stage for an apology. "Would you mind if I joined you for a moment?" He gestured to a place in the grass beside her.
She knew that voice. She peered over the edge of her book, blinking up at Lelouch the moment his shadow fell across her. She really did not feel like dealing with him today, on top of everything else that was going on.
She frowned up at him. "What do you want, Lelouch?" Her tone was cool but obviously tired. She may not have wanted him around, but she didn't really feel like arguing with him either.
He didn't let his exasperation with her attitude show, instead, he let it just buffet against him, and he pretended to acknowlege that he deserved her spite. He sat beside her, an appropriate distance between them. "Nunally never did approve of how we didn't quite see eye to eye," he began. He supposed that would be as good of an introduction to his apology scenario as any. Once she was a bit more on board, he'd see what she knew.
Fletcher was spending some of his free time wandering the hedge maze. It wasn't very entertaining, though. He knew it well enough now that he couldn't get lost, and even if he did he could just move the hedges out of the way.
So it was that he was coming through one of the walls when he caught sight of Lelouch. "Oh-- hi," he said hesitantly. He didn't recognize the older student.
This boy must be one of the younger students on campus. Knowing if there was an age limit would be useful as well. "Hello," he replied, watching the plants move so unnaturally. "Did you move that?" he asked, seeming to be interested in what the kid had just done.
Fletcher nodded, moving the plants back to their original configuration. "Uh-huh. I'm still practicing, but I'm pretty good with the hedge maze now." It seemed that the more he manipulated a particular plant, the more that specific one would obey him.
He glanced up at Lelouch. "Um, I'm Fletcher. What's your name?"
"Lelouch," he replied. No last name, because he was, frankly, disgusted by it. "It's good to meet you, Fletcher." He reached out to shake the boy's hand.
