[Aizen had been searching for a good while for kidney beans. After all one could not make good minestrone without them. Just as he was about to give up and go down to the closest supermarket he noticed Duo making quite a ruckus.]

Actually... was kinda trying not to. I want to be able to eat it not have to throw it away.

[He grinned up at Aizen in a way that could only be described as "a sheepish good ol' boy" look before rubbing the back of his neck.]

Seems to me like lunch was forever ago. I'm starving and dinner's not for ages yet!

[After a slight pause, the long-haired boy tilted his head.]

What're you looking for anyway? Got some cooking plans or something?

Oh? You might not happen to be expecting something of said teacher would you?

Ah, I see. Well I am sure you know what I will tell you in response to that.

[Aizen sighed and stood up from his kneeling position at one of the lower cupboards, straightening his robes as he did so.]

I plan on having everyone cook minestrone soup next class, and I am afraid that there are no kidney beans. We seem to be lacking in tomatoes as well, but that does not matter as much.

Little old me? What gave you that idea 'teach?

[He leaned against the counter, waiting for his teacher to stand and straighten.]

Minestrone soup, huh? I think I remember that from back when I was younger and all. It's pretty good stuff. Be a shame if we were missing ingredients though. It's a pain to go into town with all the press 'round too.

[Quatre was a bit hungry, so he went down to the kitchens to see what he could dig up or make. It was then that he noticed the braided... Duo his name was, in the kitchen.]

[Looking up from the cupboard he was currently scouring through, Duo grinned.]

Oh hey Quatre! You look different without bug guts all over you. How you been doing?

[Quatre smiled brightly at Duo]

So do you. I've been doing well. My Father's letting me stay here.

Good to hear. Seems kinda dumb to pull someone outta the Institute just 'cause of that field trip if you ask me.

[Since Quatre's just standing there, Duo heads back into a cupboard again because his stomach's gurgling something fierce right about now.]

Whatchya up to anyway? [Sorry about the muffled quality of his voice, cupboards do that after all.]

Strangely enough, Neku was thinking about his stomach after classes too. He figured he could risk the kitchen since occasionally there would be someone in there cooking who could offer up better food than usual. Plus, he'd signed up for cooking classes himself and was wondering if maybe he could attempt to whip up something quick before he returned to his room.

He paused at the doorway when he saw the familiar back of Duo. This wasn't going to be awkward at all. "Great," he sighed, entering the kitchen regardless. He was HUNGRY dammit.

He'd not heard that voice in a while but he recognized it instantly. "Long time no see! Man, you wanna know something funny? I know this campus is pretty big and there's a bunch of students, but it's almost like you've been avoiding me." He turned, a rather familiar smirk already in place.

"Crazy isn't it?" Duo was already walking over by this time, not about to let Neku escape again.

Neku resisted the urge to roll his eyes. To be honest, it wasn't like he'd been purposefully avoiding the guy...at least not for that long. Neku was just good at fading to the background when he wanted to...even without invisibility powers.

"Actively avoiding you would imply that I care whether or not I run into you again," Neku retorted, noticing the way Duo was blocking the door. He sighed, moving further into the kitchen away. "I'm just here to get something to eat...don't mind me."

It's okay. Really!

So maybe he was exaggerating a little, what's your point/ It sounded cooler his way you know.

"You're right. How silly of me to think otherwise. There's no way some random guy I don't know but jack about's going to avoid me after having a field day with my power without permission. I should be ashamed of myself for having such a low opinion of you. I'm so sorry." Not that he had a low opinion, but it sounded better. "Okay, no not really. I just figured you were the anti-social type or something."

"Can you cook?"

[Feeling hungry he ventured from his room down to the kitchen. Entering the kitchen he noticed a boy that looked a little older than himself digging through the fridge.]

You hungry too?

[Pulling himself out of the fridge he turned and grinned at the boy.]

You bet I am! They don't feed us often enough around here.

[Gives him a shy smile.]

Yeah...though I guess that's why it's an open kitchen.

Here I thought it was 'cause it'd take too much security to keep us out so why try.

[He grins, ambling over to see if the other guy had found anything interesting.]

Makes life a little difficult when you can't cook though you know? This place really needs more of that stuff we can just pop in the microwave or something, I can cook those most of the time at least.
